Got any tips to prepare? Both of them are in groups with my friends. The first one is a skit, which I reluctantly agreed to do, and the other is a poster presentation thing. The thing is, I hate doing oral presentations and I get really nervous before one. Is there anything that will help calm me down?

I consider myself a great public speaker, actually, and I would recommend just clearing your mind before hand and NOT memorizing huge passages to say, unless it is something graded like that. Just get the general idea of what to say, then improv it. It works a lot smoother that way and you will never fumble over words, trying to remember them. As long as you are sort of cool with your friends and peers, they should view you with respect.

I've done a lot of community theater and the only advise I can give you is... know your material, but in your skit try and be yourself. Imagine your typing something on GiantBomb and go for it.

The best advice I can give is to practice before hand in front of your parents or friends.

Use a mirror, that works well.

There is no need to be nervous about classroom presentations, especially group presentations.  The way I always looked at it was that the entire class had to go through what I would and that was sufficient to keep me calm and cool.  It's not like you are the only one in your classroom doing the assignment, right?

One thing which I did that helped me was to focus on the guy or girl who doesn't look like they're giving a shit and tell myself that if they don't care, why should I? No pressure, right. And suddenly, I was good to go. In fact, that technique helped me do a project on water supplies in Africa with no notes or any kind of prep work following a night playing Call of Duty 4 with some bros.

Just think about five minutes after you do the presentation, and think of how you'll feel then. You probably won't give a shit about what just happened, so why care now? Just do it mas if no one is watching or grading. That's when you do best.

A) Get off internet forums late at night and get ready, or the easier option:

B) Smoke a Jay.

If it's in front of your friends, I don't see what you're worried about.
