Halloween Costumes, what are your plans?

This might be a bit early, but I reckon everyone who's going has started to plan their Halloween costumes, and I reckon we could share ideas.

This is my first real Halloween, as it's the first time I'll be in the US for it, and I've decided I'll be going as a British punk rocker. I'm gonna dye my hair glow in the dark green and spike it up, shave off my sideburns and pierce my ears. I still need to hunt down a leather jacket and some doc martins, but I'm getting there. Anyone have any extra things I could do?

I'm expecting some awesomeness from Guild Wars 2 for Halloween, and I'll be thoroughly disappointed in them if they fail to deliver. I'm not sure if Mad King Thorn is making a triumphant return or if there will be something new, but I'm hoping it's fun. If we get new in-game costumes, I'll be able to dress up.

I don't really do the dress-up thing because there's a shortage of costumes that work for me. Also, I tend to think of costumes as a "convention" thing, so I see more of the geek oriented material.

It's my mates birthday for halloween so no big plans to dress up but If i do it'll be something easy and last minute (Like a soldier on account of all my dad's army gear in my closet).. But by all accounts he's dressing up in a giant hot-dog costume..

I'd like to do something for Halloween (It's also my birthday) but it's a little late for me to do anything truly special so I'll probably just put on one of my masks or something.

I'm going with Ryan Gosling's "driver" character from Drive. The last thing I need is the boots for my costume. I've got the driving gloves, sunglasses, watch and tight fitting jeans. And the sweet ass jacket is on it's way from eBay. I might use a hammer as a prop as well. I've put on some much needed weight and muscle this past year so I can actually make it work hopefully.

NYC has a massive Halloween parade. All adults. All very, very drunk.

For the past 3 years my company has had big costume parties that we throw for the industry before Halloween. It's an awesome time. It's fun seeing creative costumes. Drinking and dancing also becomes 10 fold more entertaining when you introduce costumes. Just a good time all around.

You can be a grown person and enjoy Halloween. It's okay if you don't, though. Definitely situational. If I wasn't in NYC I don't know if I'd be as gung-ho.

@Mahonay: Huh I guess everything is an excuse to get drunk these days. Ha. But yeah, kids barely celebrate it here, so I guess I would say I am surprised it's actually a thing.

Didn't have anything in mind this year so while friends are already going to a party as Mario and Luigi I'm joining them as Wario.

Was going to go with Shaun from Shaun of the Dead, then didn't really have the money to throw it together and make it look authentic. Next choice is Nathan Explosion. I already own 50% of the outfit, just need the combat boots and wig.

The day lost meaning once I was old enough to realize that if I wanted all that candy I could just go buy it for $20-$30 and have the stuff I want rather than needing to sift through a good 60/40 split on stuff I hated to stuff I liked. Plus, as a fat guy there are not a lot of costumes that can be done well unless it's as a joke.

I was thinking about being a character from Syndicate. Try and find a cheap trenchcoat, some combat boots black jeans and cut in my hair into a mohawk or something "out there". I thought it might be pretty cool.

Some scary movies with the family; maybe some light scary games. A LOTS of candy...

I'm gonna be Animal from The Muppets this year. Also going to a friend's party the Saturday before and having a movie marathon with the girlfriend the afternoon/night of Halloween.

last year i was a disco zombie, with the zipper face makeup that a friend of mine knew how to do. and the year before that an asylum patient escaped from electroshock theapi, that one was really easy buy loose white clothes, a oversized t-shirt do some print on it, sew some black belts on it, shave square spot in your hair and glue electric wire to the spots, and get a face mask the resembles Hannibal Lector. done and done

I never decide until the last minute, and I'm too cheap to actually buy a costume. Last year I just parted my hair, put on black dress pants and a white dress shirt, grabbed a bike helmet, and got a diet caffeine free coke. Unfortunately my costume was too realistic, and so everybody at the party who didn't know me thought I actually was a Mormon Missionary.

I'll just transform into whoever and fuck around. You know, any other day.
