This evening I opened up photoshop, started doing my daily design thing. Had a couple of T-Shirt ideas and was thinking about Giant Bomb when Hardcore Dave popped up in my browser (not of his own accord, of course). This was probably spurred on by the conversation Dave and Garry had on Thursday Night Tested, and the young_snide twitter account, and I thought it might be fun to put in things that Dave has said, either direct quotes or paraphrasing. So, people of Giant Bomb, what are some funny/stupid things Dave has said?

Want to make your own?

It's easy. Vager made a script where you can just type out whatever text you want, and MisterChief has made an easy to use form. Head on over to http://hardcoredave.com/, type what you want Dave to say and hit generate.

Whiskey Media will print a T-Shirt with the best 'Hardcore Dave says' quote, so what are you waiting for!? Details: https://twitter.com/#!/whiskeymedia/status/109016934099591169

KOTOR is the death of the RPG? Screw that guy! I hope he gets glaucoma!

I might have to do that one quick. Garry nearly wet himself when he heard that.

So Hardcore Dave and Young Snide are synonymous now?

#11 Posted by AlisterCat (5401 posts) -

@EquitasInvictus: Well, he was young when the picture was taken. Just imagine that stern face sitting behind the keyboard typing those things.

Its terrible, i know, but lets not get hasty. I didn't know Dave was one of them.

#13 Posted by JammyJesus (766 posts) -

It is Young Dave, not Hardcore Dave.

#14 Posted by Ub3rSlug (151 posts) -

These are fantastic! If the right quote comes out, I'll have it the background on my computer.

Keep it up the great work, AlisterCat!

Dave was young when he was hardcore, and hardcore when he was young. They are one and the same. I think they talked about this on the live stream.

Oh, that Dungeon Siege quote still gets me, definitely the best one of the lot.

@Gamer_152: young dave had a lot of wild opinions, but that one is pretty forceful. The KOTOR stuff is more controversial, but I see his point. Also, he still believes them.

I coded a little something where peeps can make their own images easily.

Just go here: http://www.vager.net/davesays/dave.php?text= then type what ever you want at the end of the url and press enter. Example: http://www.vager.net/davesays/dave.php?text="I'mma be a Super Star!"

If you want to right click save as, make sure the extension is .png not .php.

Throwing the url in an image tag works too:

Unfortunately, I haven't gotten the handle on centering the word wrapping, so it'll look weird if the text is longer then one line.

Edit: Fixed centering issue.

Edit: Forgot to say I love your posters.

@Vager:

It works!

I feel like I'm abusing the power that was given to me, probably should have listened to uncle Ben...

That was a quote Dave posted on a forum like 10+ years ago (I said ten, it's more like 6 or 7). It was copy pasted but from this thread not the direct source.

Sounds like a good idea for a website.

www.davedavedave.cu.cc/ perhaps?

(I'm not as hardcore as Dave to spend money on a .com domain)
#45 Posted by AlisterCat (5401 posts) -

@ShadowVirus: I'd say the middle one is hobo dave or fisherman dave.
