Have you ever finished a video game without dying (minigames and Indie games and in general short games do not count)? AND NO, VIDEOGAMEKING, FIRE EMBLEM DOES NOT COUNT EITHER.

I have. Dragon Age: Origins. Tough shit, for the achievement. And Fallout: New Vegas.

Probably? I don't really pay attention to that. Nowadays, a lot of games are easy enough for this to be a simple task.

Fable II and III come to mind. They have Achievements for doing so (or at least III does, I think II does). Okami too. That game was pretty easy. At least the combat was.

I think the only game I ever beat without losing a life was Mario 2, and that was by cheating my ass off by using the warps to skip damn near half the game. If RPGs count, then I'm sure I've beaten a couple without having a character drop.

A game that I don't think you can actually die in unless you stand still that I've beaten without dying is Spider Man Friend or Foe. An actual game that might require some skill to not die in that I beat would be Castlevania SOTN.

My Rogue on WoW went from 1 to 85 without dying. Didn't even notice until I was looking at my stats the day I hit 85. That's the biggest one for me. I finally died in Tol Barad I think after my tank disconnected. Didn't really care.

Don't think I died in Okami. Although I didn't finish it I got to like the third fake ending with the boat thing.

That tops me. When I play Ninja Gaiden 2 on acolyte I died twice. Once to the bone monster in chapter 6 or 7 because I was stubborn and did not want to use healing items. The second was on the armadillo in chapter 9 or 10 because I messed up the IS kunai strategy and once again did not feel like healing.

Damn it. I was totally going to say Fire Emblem. Does Prince of Persia (2008) count? I think I've got through Majora's Mask and Ocarina of Time without dying. Theres a ton of RPG's I've beaten without a gameover, but not without a character dying.

Made it through Bioshock 2 without dying on my first playthrough. Didn't really feel like an accomplishment and I didn't even notice until I checked out the achievements that popped up.

i died a bunch on my acolyte playthrough of Ninja Gaiden II. the armadillo boss battle confused me so much. i kept dying when he exploded at the end because i didn't know you had to block his self-destruct. that was either removed from Sigma 2, or i always blocked upon defeating him for some reason.

It was probably removed. There was no need for it, no skill involved just spiteful. I never player Sigma 2 but in the original Ninja Gaiden 2 most of the bosses were poorly designed. The worst offender being the lake monster. Gosh that was terrible.

BioShock for the achievement and the trophy... honestly, it wasn't that hard after you got the hang of how badly situations would go down.

Sonic 3 is the easiest game to beat without dying, from my experience.

Does Kirby's Epic Yarn count? I don't even think you can die in that game. If it doesn't count then I don't know. Probably not, but maybe I did and just didn't realize it.

Oh wait, WWF Wrestlemania 2000 . I won Wrestlemania and I didn't die once. Boom. I'm all about them loopholes.

  1. Vanquish
  2. Contra (NES)
  3. Gradius 3 (SNES)
  4. Actraiser
  5. Super Mario Brothers
  6. The Legend of Zelda
  7. Mega Man 2 (Easiest in the series by far)

Probably some other ones. I can't really think of anything else right now.

Quite a few, probably. I've beaten Link's Awakening and A Link to the Past several times without dying. More recently, Tomb Raider Anniversary and Bioshock come to mind. Oh, and Rock Band.

My answer is no. I can't think of any game that I ever played that I didn't die on, even though I finished it. For example, I played Mass Effect 3, and the final assault on Earth was so dang tough, because of all the reaper enemies that kept coming non-stop, and yet I persevered because I was determined to finish the game.

I doubt it. I usually die intentionally a number of times just to see how things work or test out the environment. I remember being a kid and playing Super Mario Brothers on NES and thinking about how you would never see all the sprites for the game if you never died, so to get everything out of a game you had to die at least once. That philosophy has stayed with me.

I honestly don't know. I've never intentionally tried to finish a game without dying. That said, there are some games that I have played many many times that I probably have finished without dying. RE4 and RE5 come to mind.

yup that's certainly something i noticed when i returned to Ninja Gaiden on the Vita, and playing some Black for the first time. the bosses were a lot more well designed. the beginning fight with Murai is still a lot of fun, while remaining challenging. the boss fights are still probably the worst part about Ninja Gaiden II to me.
