Probably so they wouldn't have to pay unemployment.
I worked at office depot (or office deepole as I called it) for about 6 months. One day I was asked to mop and never mopped before. Of course the idea of me never mopping before was beyond the managers brain capacity and wouldn't give me any tips (like how much soap and water to use). Also the cart had 1 wheel missing. I used too much water, but that didn't matter because that fucking missing wheel made the cart tilt and water spilled everywhere. I slipped, got pissed. He gave me shit for using too much water and I got pissed at him and told him that I warned him I've never mopped before. He told me it was common sense I told him he doesn't know what he's talking about because mopping is a learned skill as easy as it may be, how the fuck am I supposed to know how much water to use? and I quit the next day. Fuck that guy.
Nope! partly because I've never had a REAL job. I've been working and making money. But no work with a contract agreement and all that. I'm looking for work now though. Ah, I wish GiantBomb would hire me....
