HELP! Trying to remember this game for 5 YEARS!

It was a verticle scrolling shooter very cyborgish, you played as this little ship and fought progressively larger and harder spaceship looking things and there was an upgrade to where you eventually shot bananas and I believe you could get a carrot spaceship...they were kind of just random jokes within the game but it was really neat It was for either windows 95 or 98.
