Hip-hop is alive.

Many people like to say that hip-hop is dead. People say that rap today is just about meaningless gangsta shit, which is fair considering that is the case for much of the mainstream rap scene. But anyone is at all involved in today's rap scene knows there are great artists out there. The classics like Jay-Z, Nas and Ghostface Killah are still out there constantly putting out great albums and there are so many up-and-coming rappers just exploding on the scene. Lupe Fiasco, Black Milk, Murs, The Roots (well, not up-and-coming but still underground and whatnot) and countless others. 

I'm pretty open to all genres of music so I'll give a listen to POS. The problem with the hip-hop scene is that there are a lot of people in hip-hop that a good amount of people don't like and really turn people off to the genre. The genre needs more groups like The Roots.

I agree. People see stuff like Soulja Boy and their immediate reaction is just "Wow, rap sucks nowadays."

P.O.S. is alright but there are plenty of other MCs from the twin cities that deserve more exposure. Oh yeah, Murs' new LP was fucking garbage.

Soulja Boy is not a representative for the entire rap genre. That's what people don't seem to understand."

RedSox8933 obviously hasn't heard Deltron 3030, still, I think it's all about taste. I love ALL music, I don't pick out a couple of genres and avoid everything else.

I'm a fan of Flying Lotus although he crosses over into electronica.

Roots aren't up and comers, they've been around for a decade and a half!

Personally, I like Lyrics Born.

POS is alright.

Rap sucks. Hip hop sucks. That is all. Give me my negatives, thanks.

There is a lot of great talent out there in the underground scene. I'll have to check out POS. I'm personally surprised Crooked I hasn't made it big yet.
