Word on the street is, the Moon's orbit brought it closer to Earth last night, making it noticeably larger than usual. I had noticed it was a particularly nice full Moon, all shimmery with a thin cloud cover and whatnot, but because I was not outside during it's peak mooniness, It didn't seem as big as it is in some pictures. Which kind of annoys me, because the one thing I have always thought about the Moon is that it shouldn't be so goddam tiny. Like, seriously. We need to find a way to bring it closer permanently or something.

this is sort of how I imagine it went down

Did you guys get a good look-see? Any sweet pics? Or was everyone inside playing your vidyagames because you're NERDS.

I personally forgot all about it happening last night. Though someone in my household did manage to remember and take a pretty amazing photo of it.

Nah, I was sleeping. Though I did see the moon a bit last night, I didn't think it was any larger anyway...

It honestly wasn't all that super. It looked like the moon, just sliiiiiiightly bigger, it was incredibly clear, though. Here's a picture that I took, blame the Space Core on my boredom.

I saw it on TV when i was watching a football match. Couldn't tell if it was bigger or not, if it was, wouldn't care. But it was a nice full moon *howl*.

@Village_Guy: That's because it's apparent size becomes gradually bigger over the course of months so most people don't notice it.

It was cloudy here, so the Moon could've caught fire last night and I wouldn't have seen it.

This is the first I've heard of this.

Now I'm imagining a superhero called Supermoon!

Maybe that's why when I got home at 3 it was so damn bright.

I saw it last night and it looked like a normal moon. Not sure why people are hyping it up.

It only looked a little bigger and a little brighter than usual, but nothing extremely out of the ordinary. It was cool to see nonetheless though. What caught my eye more though was when it was nearly bright as day and you could see a bright star to the west, I wondered if it was a planet. I love looking up at the stars, but don't always get a chance to. I'm watching the Ricky Gervais animated show right now, and I feel like I'm getting dumber each episode... but it is funny.

A.) That makes no sense. Technically, the Earth would appear bigger to me, and on that subject...

B.) I honestly couldn't tell, as it's still day time where I am. Night won't come for another week.

It was noticeably brighter around here, and it made the nearby clouds look really cool.

Also people on another forum I lurk were talking about some weird red lights hovering in the sky last night. Aliens? Superman? Festive birds? You be the judge.

Technically superman is a naturalized immigrant, not an alien.

Whenever I read 'super moon' I get this image of Rosie O'Donnell bending over. It's not pretty.

Thankfully the sky over here in Sweden, specifically Gävle, is crystal clear. I have never seen the moon this big and bright in my life, truly something to behold

I remember the moon was huge last year.  And it was yellow.  That was weird.
