Hey guys, just to let you know...I am an idiot when it comes to computers so please bear with me. I need to update my drivers because I have no sound and want to play Half-Life 2. So, I need to find out what motherboard I have and since I didn't build the PC I do not know. And the whole restarting the computer and checking doesn't work for me for some reason and I do not know why. Can someone please help? Thank you so much.

You can check in the BIOS (there's usually a message that says hit 'Del' or 'F2' to enter setup when the computer is turning on) or in the POST. Or take the side off and look for the model number on the motherboard (the big chipboard inside), then google it.

You should probably just open up your computer and take a look.

I suggest SIW (System Information for Windows) , completely free and it has a bunch of other options other than looking up your system info, like temp monitoring.
