I know S-Video is for just video. I'm helping this person that has a Directv receiver that only has composite and S-Video output and I want to get them the best picture quality for what they have, S-Video would do that. But that leaves the sound, what can I do to get sound?

Maybe it's pretty obvious, but I can't see it.

When I used to hook my laptop up to large TV's through S-video, I also had to use a separate cable that had a headphone jack on one end, and red & white composite cables on the other. I'm not sure there IS another solution. I hope that I'm wrong, though.

I'm gonna try this, plug the right and left sound rca cables and see what happens.

Yeah that did it, how very simple. Just connected the S-video to the tv in s-video and then connected the rca left and right (white and red) cables for sound and tada, it works. I guess it wasn't that hard.
