I shave with a Gilette Fusion razor. I use normal shaving cream like everyone else.
How Do You Shave?
"My Mach 4 with just water.Shaving cream is for pansies."Do you have a face left? Seriously, that doesn't hurt?
"I rip the individual hairs out one by one, it builds character"If you ever get rid of your icon, I am going to have to kill you!!! Its awesome!
Anyways, I still use a 2-blade shave, this 5 blade crap is just too much, twin blade I think actually does a better job!
"Electric razor, the same one I use for shaving my head, then a Fusion for touch up. I use a separate electric razor and fusion for my balls."Dont get them mixed up.
When forced to, i use a normal, non vibrating fusion.
But usually i use a trimmer, doesnt make me feel as face-naked then.
I use a trimmer, then follow up with a fusion. I wish I still had my Mach 3 though. The Fusion is... eh... only thing I like about it is the precision blade.
I use one of those GILLETTE NOW WITH FIIIIIVE RAZORZ!!111 and cant complain, it works. But i really want to try a old school razor like this. It's cheaper and all those people on weird barber forums cant be wrong, can they?
I use a splach of warm water, lather with heated Barbasol shaving cream. Then use my straight edge. Down then across. Wash my face with cold water and a dab of baby oil. For protection. Almost as good as butter. Ask Kramer.
In the evening, I do the same but not across. Usually a quick dry shave. Depending on how early I woke up and how much rust has accumulated. During the afternoon. My face always grows thicker and rougher in the summer.
I used those plastic disposable razors, a long time ago. But had to quit. Their cheapness annoyed me, to no end. My stubble kept bending the blades by getting stuck between them and the metal bends irritated my face. Left red streaks on my cheeks and chin.
After using a straight blade for a few years now. I will never use one of those cheap plastic rip offs again. Always makes me laugh to think of some kid with barely a mustache, thinking he needs five blades to cut that thicket sprouting from his upper lip.
Gillette and like companies, sell you less for more. Seriously, your buying 2 and 5 metal blades. But they turn to shit after a week. Trust me, your beard isn't that rough. Those scams are made to nickel and dime you.
Straight razors are tricky to get used to, but make up for in the end. When you pass yours along to your son, for his birthday. They last. One kit, lasts a life time.
You also will get a damn fine shave. Way better then anything a piece of plastic can give you. I promise you.
Typically, I use an electric for both stubble and longer hairs. However, given that I live in a state of perpetual cold and snow, I tend to grow my beard out a great deal during the fimbulwinter. I just did my springtime shave which required me to cut down my beard with some scissors before switching to my electric once it was short enough. Took about a half-hour.
a pocket knife and some cool whip. Works just fine and keeps my face smelling sweet and good enough to eat.
I never use electric shavers, I don't like them. I typically just use a Mach 4 or a 5 or whatever they're up to these days, but on special occasions I'll take the time to use a straight razor. I got one years ago after getting a shave at a barber and there is nothing else like it, a Mach 3 can't come close to the quality of shave that a straight razor will give you. It takes a lot of time and there is quite a bit of maintenance involved in honing the blade, however, so it's certainly not for everyone.
I still use the badger brush and glycerin soap to prep my beard for shaving every day though, I guess I like the ritual of it.
Electric Shaver for my head which I do bi-monthly and I use the same shaver to trim my beard/mustache typically bi-weekly or weekly if I am lazy (often am) and lastly Mach 3 for precision on my beard typically for the sides and neck maintenance.
Facial hair: depends how long it is. If I'm lazy and don't shave for a while(as in 3 days or more) I use my Gillette Fusion because otherwise it'd take years with the electric to get it down. Step one: wet face, step 2: apply shaving cream. Step 3: wet razor. Step 4: shave one stroke, rinse razor because it's so long it clogs the razor, then repeat. Step 5: Profit. Always go with the grain unless it's my neck.
