How fast can you take your pants off under duress?

I just tried this now. 7 seconds, but that's with a belt.
Were you under duress though?
Not really, though I suppose it depends what counts as duress.@HandsomeDead said:

Well if I'm about to be raped, I'll probably take about 20 seconds, just to get my tease on.
If it's because my lady wants to touch my man parts but she's only offering it for a limited time, well I would be way ahead of her on that one. Spread eagle always.
I have now checked and it seems that the average for taking off the most common sort of pants I wear (Not so tight fitting jeans) is around 4-5 seconds. However I expect several seconds to be added upon that time while I'm under duress, seeing as I will then be more likely to get my feet tangled up once the pants reach the area of my ankles.
In the shorts I'm currently wearing, 0-1 seconds. If I were wearing full on pants/jeans, it'd probably be 2-5 if I had to guess.
You look down and realize you are wearing a pair of pants made of poison ivy.I'm wondering in what situation would I need to de-pantaloon so quickly.
Just recently I'd had a pretty late night out, then got home and passed out still fully dressed. Woke up late the next morning for work and literally got fully changed in about 10 seconds. I'd say the jeans I'd slept in took about 3 seconds to come off.
That was rough, thinking back.
Under duress? I dunno... Would I be panicked? If not, 2-4 seconds. Who knows how long if I were to have unsteady hands.
I hope this information will help your thesis. I trust we shall all be credited?
There are variables at play here. Am I wearing a belt? Starting from a sitting or standing position? Do I only need to get them around my ankles, or all the way off? Does the underwear stay on?
I need more damn information.
this is totally dependant on the type of pants you are wearing
sweats - 0-1 seconds
gym shorts - 0-1 seconds
regular shorts - 2-5 seconds
dress pants 2-5 seconds
jeans 5-10 seconds
Gonna guess 5-15. Completely off or just around the ankles? About 3-5 seconds if I just need to pull them down, but to get them completely off would take significantly longer.
Ran three sets of tests. Sets were defined by the type of pants worn. Within each set there were five trials.
For gym shorts the mean time from touch to removal (removal being "no longer touching any skin"): 1.57sec
For jeans (to unbutton, unzip, and remove): 3.42 sec
For sweats: 1.74sec.
I went with the 2-5 option because the amount of trials conducted was not enough to gain statistical significance. I feel that more trials might have yielded results with higher mean times for removal.
Seriously, I was actually thinking about this very situation the other day. I think taking off your pants is one of those very basic motor functions that you would simply forget how to perform under a high pressure situation.
Well I don't think I've ever had to take off my pants under duress. Outside of being on fire or covered in chemical waste I can't really think of any reason why I'd want to take off my pants at a great speed. That said, I don't wear a belt and almost always wear sweat pants so I can get my pants off in under five seconds unless I'm drunk or something.
