I'm planning a trip to South Carolina soon, and am in need of something to help me navigate my way there. I don't have a smart phone and my nexus 7 (2013 model) is wifi only.

Every offline gps app for android that I've tried is laggy as hell and not user friendly. Though I have only been trying free ones, but that's because I don't want to pay money on something I'm not completely sure of. I'm, honestly, considering to just get a standalone gps (you can recommend some if you'd like, but my budget is $100 or less)

All of your opinions/recommendations will be appreciated

If you can go up to $129 or so you can get the 2555 LMT which has lifetime traffic in addition to lifetime map updates, that's the one I have. I paid a lot more than $129 for it when I got it and it was well worth it. Otherwise, the 40LM is fine too.
