I bought the $35 a year deal. When should I get my code?

Did you buy the deal? Am I supposed to get the code later sometime?

It should be emailed to whatever email you entered instantly. Mine was at least.

So I didn't get a code instantly. Who do I complain to?

There is no store discount code with this deal. Says it right at the bottom.

what? i specifically looked to see if that was the case and didn't see anything. it's possible that i overlooked something, but the e-mail i got containing my code says this:

"Thanks for purchasing a Whiskey Media Subscription gift code. This code can be used by you (or likely someone you love) to redeem a yearly subscription to our sites. Once redeemed, that user will get the $15 gift code for use in our store. Note that to claim this code, the user must first have a Whiskey Media profile already or must sign up for one before using the code."

edit: oh wow. that must be the completely illegible text at the bottom of the page that i couldn't highlight to read either.

that's messed up. considering i've meant to buy a subscription for a while and the difference between this deal and the normal situation is the value of the coupon...i don't feel like i lost anything but i'm definitely unpleasantly surprised.

I got mine within minutes, however i re-subscribed on wednesday.

@DevWil: I assume it's just a generic email they send out, they obviously didn't bother changing it. It says specifically when you sign up that it doesn't include the $15 coupon.. which is a bit disappointing, as it completely devalues the deal. But if you just wanted an extra year or didn't care about getting a t-shirt anyway, it's fine.

@DevWil: That must be left over from when you normally gift a subscription. A mistake in the email, but that is after you have already bought it. It does say on the page before you buy. Unfortunately that is due to your resolution I would imagine. The spotlight effect is positioned behind the illustration and is not meant to be that far down. Not a situation they can address.

just so it's clear (as it may not be over text): i'm not outraged. if i want a shirt, i can (and probably will) just spend $20 to get one and it's just as much as if this deal never happened. like i said, i'd meant to subscribe for a long time (since it was an option, really) and this promotion was just what made me go HOT DAMN I NEVER RODE IN A CONVERTIBLE BEFORE! and click buttons with credit cards go go go

it's just the combination of the lyin'-ass e-mail and the poorly designed web page that has me irritated and, like i said, unpleasantly surprised.

Wow. The not getting a coupon thing sucks. Now if you want to get a coupon you will have to pay what would have been the full price of a subscription. Kinda lame, cause I wanted the shirt and jumped on the deal. Oh well, I'll probably still get the shirt anyways :)

You would essentially be paying the full price if you bought the shirt

I think that is really lame.

I just upgraded my account now, I don't care much about the no coupon, If I got a regular subscription I would of had to pay extra for shipping the t-shirt to UK so this works out better for me.

You can just buy the shirt can you not? Works out as the same price. Offer is really for ppl who don't want the shirt or have to pay international shipping.

People seriously want a 1 year membership and a $15 store credit for 35 bucks? I though I was tight and I don't sub at all.

Did you photoshop that shit? 'cause I can't read it on your screencap yet on the actual page it is perfectly legible.

I've looked at the page on both my MBP with Chrome and on my iPod touch with Safari. Both have the color burst tiling in the background, which makes the bottom text illegible.

Well okay. Fine here, FF and Chrome. Weird. One thing I will say that if you feel cheated and want a refund, I can almost guarantee Daniel will sort you out with one.
