I mean, the two don't have to be mutually exclusive, but...

Well, you be the judge

Edit: As per FluxWaveZ's advice, I did not make this video and am not trying to promote it for personal gain. I'm much more interested in the discussion about it, see what you guys think =)

Edit 2: Just realized I spelled "Genius" wrong. Perfect execution.

Might want to write a bit more or this'll get locked as Youtube spam.

Just watched half of it and:

LOL!

You don't know how to spell either.

Edit: I thought it was funny.

#5 Posted by Milkman (16541 posts) -

Yeah, that's pretty racist...

#6 Posted by bassman2112 (820 posts) -

@BraveToaster: Ugh I noticed that just after posting too. Initial reaction was "oh dammit, now I'll be judged," then I remembered it's the internet and ate a popsicle.

No worries, it happens to everyone. I just couldn't resist making a stupid joke.

It's definitely not genius. So... racist?

#9 Posted by believer258 (11677 posts) -

It might be a bit racist but it's hardly genius.

#10 Posted by NMC2008 (1231 posts) -

Too me it's neither, but it's also not good either. :(

#11 Posted by xaLieNxGrEyx (2605 posts) -

It's just stupid

#12 Posted by WMWA (1160 posts) -

This is legitimately great.

#13 Posted by DonChipotle (2696 posts) -

Doesn't seem either racist or genius thus far.

#14 Posted by Chumm (224 posts) -

I lost a spelling bee by spelling genius the way you did...

In 3rd grade.

#15 Posted by TheHumanDove (2523 posts) -

Its not racist....it's...get ready for it...

sexist. Or racesexist

#16 Posted by InsidiousTuna (377 posts) -

@Bassman2112: Well, now I'm judging you for eating a popsicle, wideass.

#17 Posted by CrazyBagMan (836 posts) -

Not genius, but funny. And definitely not racist. People are too sensitive these days.

#18 Posted by JordanK85 (140 posts) -

Me: Umm...I'm gonna go with misogyonist?

Internet: Good answer! Good answer!

it was made by a black guy so, not racist.

That word gets thrown around way too much.

Maybe, but this video is gleefully wallowing in negative stereotypes.

#23 Posted by The_Nubster (2053 posts) -

I fail to see how this is misogynist, racist, sexist, etc. Though I do think it is pretty impressive and really cleverly written.

It is but it doesn't come across maliciously. Everybody needs to be able to poke fun at themselves I think.

I thought it was pretty funny, the "good credit" line had me cracking up. If the black dude who made it and the people involved don't think it's racist I'm not gonna.

#25 Posted by bonbolapti (1599 posts) -

@Meowshi: I don't even know what a positive stereotype is. haha

#26 Posted by DillonWerner (1526 posts) -

HAHAHAHAHHAHA

#27 Posted by css_switchfoot (118 posts) -

Stereotypes are not the same thing as racism. They are, by definition, based on something that is true.

If the video was of a black guy rapping in a "white" town, I doubt anyone would call it racist. The stereotypes of different cultures and different upbringings need to stop being labeled and people need to stop taking offense to them.

#28 Posted by ImmortalSaiyan (4676 posts) -

I not sure I get it? Why is it considered funny?

#30 Posted by Turambar (6677 posts) -

It's kind of dumb, but also really well made.

#31 Posted by Kedi2 (243 posts) -

It was well produced, but I didn't find it funny :/

#32 Posted by mano521 (1216 posts) -

this is hilariously awesome. Just sent it to my one black friend!

#33 Posted by Little_Socrates (5675 posts) -

Super racist. Even if the author's not a racist, the video is hell of racist.

#34 Posted by JasonR86 (9611 posts) -

It's satire. People who scream racism at this sketch which is clearly a comedy are a bunch of wimps.

#35 Posted by the_OFFICIAL_jAPanese_teaBAG (4308 posts) -

Theyre comedians on YouTube and the person who wrote it is black probably so its not racist.

#36 Posted by Dexter_Morgan_ (314 posts) -

If you find this racist we can never be friends. Never.

#37 Posted by TheDudeOfGaming (6078 posts) -

It's neither, it is stupid though.

#38 Posted by Butano (1728 posts) -

I thought it was funny. Pretty clever what they did.

#39 Edited by buzz_clik (6928 posts) -

HA HA HA HA BECAUSE SHE'S WHITE AND THEY'RE NOT AND YOU EXPECT IT TO BE IN A FAIRY TALE BUT IT ISN'T AND IT KEEPS GOING AND GOING

It gets boring real quick.

My brother lost on the final word in his district because he couldn't spell conceited. This of course after telling everyone he didn't need to study.

#41 Posted by Red (5994 posts) -

It's awful. From the title I was expecting it to be Beauty and the Beast, but the beast in a castle is a black music producer. I guess my version would've been more racist, but I think it also would've been less awful.

#42 Posted by SinGulaR (2261 posts) -

It's stereotypical ;)

#43 Posted by morningthief (76 posts) -

racist for some, miniature american flags for others.

Nah, he's just Bizarro British. In his universe they put superfluous O's in front of U's in random words, instead of U's after O's like in this one.
#45 Posted by Meowshi (2911 posts) -

"It's not racist because a black guy made it!"

By this logic, neither is slavery.

My point being, of course, that this is a very silly thing to say or believe.

Humor via nontraditional juxtaposition of two dissimilar concepts that highlights the inherent absurdities of both premises.

If you think that video's bad....this one is just fucking bonkers. And brilliant on it's own right. Goddamn, South Florida is a gang-infested SHITHOLE.

(Possibly NSFW. Or politically-correct wussbags without any sense of irony or humor.)
