...but it's fun. I have an original Playstation, am looking to upgrade, and haven't played any games in over five years. But I am very interested in the Ultimate Marvel games as well as the Batman: Arkham stuff...

What are your PC specs. For many it is a case of just adding in a Dedicated GPU. It may well be the cheapest way to go.
 
If not, then look at the X360 and PS3 and see which of their catalogue of games interests you more.

A lot has changed since the days of the original Playstation. If you cum on the front of a PS3 and return it to Sony they will never send it back to you.

I hear starcraft 1 is coming out soon, maybe you should get that, or just hold out for that Playstation 2, assuming it actually exists.
