Im 22 year's old now, and when i saw Heartgold/Soulsilver i got the urge to go watch the entire anime again, play the games and get some old cards from my attic.
You know ... the ones you just couldn't bring youreself to throw away. Or was that just me?
Are there anymore people who despite their age being above its target audience still have a fondness for those good 'ol pocket monsters?
Or have you moved on? completely forsaking you're childhood addiction? ( and possibly added new "adult" ones, WoW much? )
I still like Pokemon, should i be ashamed?

Pokemon is undeniably awesome imo. i wish i didn't give away my cards though, im pretty sure the kid who i gave them to did not have nearly as much passion as i did for them. oh well
No shame bro, you were at the age that pokemon was at it's peak of perfection, like me. I still have alot of love for pokemon and find myself wanted to play the games again. But there simplicity and endless grinding turns me away.
I can't wait to check out Black/White because it looks like there finally revamping the system.
I still play the main RPG games in the series. Those are great games.
But I don't watch the anime or play the card game or do anything else. If you're still into that, that's cool. Just be aware that some adults or girls might think you're a pedo when they find out you watch Pokemon lol. But for real, do what you want.
Hell no, good game is good game. I am nearly 50 and still play Pokemon games - I only started when I was about 33. They are just great fun. I have seen all the cartoons with my kids, but I don't care to revisit any - except the first season, just because it is actually funny in a naff way.
Nothing to be ashamed about. Lots of people that should be 'too old' to play it still play it. I love me some Pokemon.
Even the anime isn't as terrible as it seems like it would be.
No shame in it, I feel. My friends have no problem discussing the good days of Pokemon, since they watched the series as a kid when it started and played the main line of games.

Nearly 50 and going strong! Respect!
Good to see im not the only one with a soft spot for electric yellow mouse creatures!

In numerical order.
Watching the whole series again is perhaps going a little far, in my opinion, but there's certainly no shame in playing the games. I still enjoy them as much as I always have, even if I don't play them quite as religiously as I used too. I haven't picked up the new ones yet but I am extremely tempted.
More power to you, and all us older Pokemon players, I say! :)
A long history of collecting Pokemon games (photo included)." @oldschool: Nearly 50 and going strong! Respect! Good to see im not the only one with a soft spot for electric yellow mouse creatures! "
That was a blog I did recently, so it will give you more on my enjoyment of the series.

Hey, I'm 35 and still play the games and watch the shows. I even just bought both HG & SS. Good games have no age limit :P
there might be a problem watching the show...
but everything else is fair game! my girlfriend is still in love with pokemon (playing heartsilver) and we're both 22. looking forward to black and white! and the cards, man, they were awesome. its beyond the concept of pokemon, and is all about strategy. it's great!
I just wish I could love Pokemon as much as I loved it back then. But they just screwed it up after the 150 first pokemon.
I no longer feel so weird for being 21 and just recently watching through all of the original series since I hadnt seen it in years so I had the urge to go back and see how well it holds up today compared to when I seen it when younger. I do go play the games from time to time because there still a lot of fun and im always intrigued when a new game releases.
The original 150 were lame as hell. Some newer ones are way better designed and are far more clever.
Don't play it anymore and sent my cards to a better place (my younger cousins). Still like it though, and I never mind if my cousin asks me to help him out on his DS.
I'm playing HeartGold now. Have been for like five hours straight.
It makes me yell and scream but I can't put it down. I'm 21.
EDIT: Flaaffy evolved into Ampharos literally the moment I hit Post.
Can't get into any of the games since regular Silver, they need innovation, but my nostalgia only extends to watching the original Pokemon theme song (see bio).
The games are still great fun.
However there is never an excuse to watch any anime, at any age. Even though I watched it as a kid- I knew no better.
I really wish they had a pokemon game where you could build your own pokedex. You would have to pick at least 150, and if you picked one, you would have to chose its evolutions, but I think it would be amazing o hand pick the ones I wanted to keep through out all the generations.

True, the old ones rock, and the games, in my opinion are timeless classics." @peritus: Yeah I always say I'm done with the Poke'man, but every time a game comes out I start to feel the urge. But I tried watching the show but I couldn't get into it, where's all the Charizard, and Blastoise. Man i miss the good ol days. "
So come back with you're head held high and play on!
Dude, anime's are for all ages, go get you some naruto or bleach! :P ( im a narutophile ) Guess where my avatar is from! huh? huh? :p
I still play the Main games a lot, I might even get SoulSilver, but the anime and the rest are kid's bunk.
the last Pokemon game I played was Ruby an I found it way too easy. I started playing Diamond on an emulator last year but couldn't get into it.
