What band would you choose?

#2 Posted by BrainSpecialist (554 posts) -

@AndrewBeardsley: They Might Be Giants? No clue.

#3 Posted by GunnBjorn (2911 posts) -

With bands, you mean musical artists in general; either a group or solo?

Either Coheed & Cambria or Esthero. Hard to decide between this:

and this:

Probably Pearl Jam. Lots of songs I love.

Maybe The Beatles.

The Beatles - massive, diverse library.

Sorted.

Armin Van Buuren. That includes all of his Remixes and mashups. I think I've chosen wisely.

Buckethead because I would have SO MANY ALBUMS to listen to.

alternatively Boris or Porcupine Tree

#21 Posted by Scalec (71 posts) -

Radiohead for me.

I think I'd go with Opeth. Their music is so diverse. Plenty of variety, so boredom will not ensue quickly. But ultimately, listening to one and the same artist for a prolonged period of time will get on my nerves. I guess I could always listen to a cricket concert or frog choir in the evening as an alternative.

Deftones.

I would form a band that would do various covers. Be the manager or something where I wouldn't need to hear the originals.

#25 Posted by sirdesmond (1234 posts) -

Mine would be Less Than Jake, hands down. I still listen to their album Hello Rockview regularly and having been doing so since 5th or 6th grade. It never gets old.

@AndrewBeardsley: considering the amount of their library that I own and still listen to, The Beatles

R.E.M. without a heartbeat.

One of the greatest bands of all time...and plenty of albums with lots of different styles

Jesus, er, I mean, Maynard...  It would be tough picking which band, but it would definately be one of the Holy Trinity (Tool, Puscifer, APC)

I could be a cunt and choose Mozart. Because I could happily only hear his Requiem for the rest of my life.

But I dunno about bands, Glassjaw maybe? Maybe the first Fear Before the March of Flames album? Dillinger Escape Plan are a definite contender. Maybe even Mayhem. Or even Between the Buried and Me with their varied styles. Sunn 0))) for sure. And I know they weren't a band but NWA. Meet Me in St. Loius. Godspeed You! Black Emperor. TOO MANY TO CHOOSE FROM.

Any of those I detailed above maybe some more.
