As the question says if for the rest of your life you could only use ONE condiment for all of your food what would it be? I'm gonna go Franks Red Hot myself. Hot sauce is pretty versatile. Great on eggs and pizza and even things like rice , burgers etc....

It's tough because I am a condiment junkie. I put tons of packets of stuff on almost everything I eat.

Does Pico de Gallo count as a condiment? If yes, then that. If not, then maybe Chipotle Tabasco.

I'm gonna be bold and say just plain old Ketchup, sure its plain in comparison to a lot of other things but it does go with a wide variety of foods.

Oddly enough, my first choice is Pico de Gallo, with Frank's Red Hot sauce as runner-up.

Ketchup with Dijon mustard as runner up.

I generally don't put condiments on my food, but when I do it is usually A1 sauce.

That's a really hard question. I'll go with soy sauce... or mustard... or mayonnaise... it's hard to choose, okay?!

Mustard is the best condiment in the history of mankind.

#21 Posted by JacDG (2124 posts) -

I hate ALL condiments, so for me it's quite easy, nothing, unless Béarnaise sauce is a condiment, because then I'll choose that.

#22 Posted by Redbullet685 (6044 posts) -

I'll go with ketchup because of the vast amount of foods that go with ketchup.

#23 Posted by Metzo_Paino (318 posts) -

Mayonnaise. Always mayonnaise.

#24 Posted by Wrighteous86 (3782 posts) -

Mustard.

Man, hard decision. Horseradish sauce or Bullseye BBQ sauce probably. Both taste great to me on a variety of different things. Probably horseradish sauce, I can put that shit on anything and it always tastes awesome.

Teriyaki sauce....it goes with ANYTHING: Meat, vegetables, and pasta.

#27 Posted by Butano (1738 posts) -

Either Chipotle Tabasco or Sriracha.

I don't hate all condiments, but hell yes to béarnaise sauce.

Go old Heinz tomato ketchup.

#31 Posted by DjCmeP (1148 posts) -

Tabasco is great with everything.

#32 Posted by TheSouthernDandy (3867 posts) -

Is guacamole a condiment? That.

#33 Posted by Kidavenger (3548 posts) -

Mustard

Mustard, Ketchup, and Maple syrup are all I ever use, Maple syrup is the best but I use it rarely and Ketchup has flies in it, so Mustard wins.

What constitutes a condiment? Is bbq sauce on bbq chicken or ribs a condiment? Is buffalo sauce a condiment? Where does the sauce/condiment gap lie?

Does it count if the ingredient is part of the recipe? Or is it something you apply afterwards once the food is on your plate? Once the food is on my plate, I usually don't touch it.

I guess I'd take ketchup for burgers and durgers.

#35 Posted by JonathanAshleyMoore (283 posts) -

Ketchup. Cheapest shit you can find. I'm in.

Frank's Red Hot Sauce.

#37 Posted by UnrealDP (1222 posts) -

Salt's a condiment, right? If so, then that. If not, then ketchup would work, too.

I lived off of rooster sauce and Ramen for a couple years when I was po'. Forever indebted.

I'd have to go with Tony Chachere's, with Crystal Hot Sauce as a runner up.

#45 Posted by spazmaster666 (1967 posts) -

Probably soy sauce or chili garlic sauce for versatility.

#46 Posted by 71Ranchero (2765 posts) -

If we are talking about versatility then it goes to mustard.

#47 Posted by Erk_Forever (157 posts) -

Buffalo Bobs Everything sauce because it goes on everything.

#48 Posted by HarlequinRiot (1098 posts) -

If something like olive oil is on the table, then I guess that because it's so necessary. But in terms of your classic condiments, then I'd say mustard. I use it a surprising amount.

Hot sauce.  Frank's is scandalously expensive in Britain and that's bad because you can drink it like tea because it really isn't very hot, just lovely.  Catering packs on Amazon 3.8 litres for 16 quid and I'm really tempted.  I usually mix chilli sauce with mayonnaise and have that with chips.  All good London dirty chicken shops push that magic.
