Some people say that travel to Mars even by citizens will be in our lifetime which is just crazy to think about really but where would you go first? Personally I can't wait to go to Mars. Just seeing the sun from a different view point and seeing the Earth would be breathtaking and worth whatever time it took to got there.
If you were able to go to Mars where would you go first?

I am assuming that since Mars is only a star to the naked eye from here. The same would be true for Earth from Mars. But I remember a Heiniken ad where the robot turned into a bar to attract the aliens, I would probably look that joint up in the phone book cause I'm sure it would be rockin'.
I dunno. It's obviously between Valles Marineris and Olympus Mons. They're really the only two things of interest on Mars. I guess it probably doesn't really matter which I went to first, I'm sure I'd have time to see both. I'm sure they're both spectacular sights, and would love to see them.
EDIT: I just thought I'd explain that Valles Marineris is the largest known canyon in the solar system, and Olympus Mons is the largest known mountain in the solar system. They're both on Mars.

Where would you go first?"
"Yeh but this one poses a reasonable question not some opinion on a weird fetish. "OK I guess that's true. Anyways, I would go to the martian strip joint.

I'm not really sure of my choices. Where would I go first? Mars or ? I suppose I wouldn't go to Mars, if that's one of the options. It would take something crazy like 18 months to travel there and I don't really have that much time to waste seeing some giant red desert. If the moon is an option, I think I would go to the moon. It's a MUCH shorter trip and there would probably be some sort of moon colony if there is civilization on Mars. I would open up a Moon cafe and do some space bounty hunting on the side. I would go to Mars if it took like an hour, but that's the max.i imagine it would be like going to Barstow, CA. It's like 2 hours outside of LA and there's nothing there but desert and people willing to live in the desert. Mars would be a red Barstow in my opinion. The moon would be the place all the cool kids hang out. It would be like six flags and Disneyland combined. Also aliens living on mars would beat the crap out of you, while something that lives on the moon would get it's ass kicked if it messed with me and my superior earth strength.
"As someone whose named himself for Obiwan I would have thought you would have headed straight to the cantina to hitch a ride from the space port for the Alderan system "that was a long time ago, i'm past that. I turned my life around and haven't been in a cantina for 30 years now
"first i would probably go to that place where they found water and lick it too see what it tastes like"explain how you would be able to lick the surface of a planet when you would not be able to take off your astronauts suit ?
Only place I can think of on Mars is the Olympus Mons. So I'd probably go there...and be all "Wow, that's super big...boy, it would sure be swell if I could breathe. Oh well. Goodbye, cruel Mars!"

Not that exciting. What about you guys? Where would you go first?"
People who believe they could send us to Mars in this lifetime are unbelievably ignorant. It takes at least a year to travel there, the amount of supplies needed for that would be insane and I'm sure no one would be willing to do it until they shorten the time.
However back on topic, I probably wouldn't want to go on Mars. Seems kinda boring to me, although, I would like to see this canyon you guys are talking about.
"I'd go to Mars. Where on Mars? Does it matter? It's just a big desert."A big.. lumpy.. cold... desert.. awesome!!
"exactly. well, i don't care about some stupid canyon. I think you should just get some glasses with red lenses and look at the Grand Canyon.People who believe they could send us to Mars in this lifetime are unbelievably ignorant.
