I'm guessing you have to be a Daft Punk listener to get it.  Didn't really make me feel old either.  Now if someone said, "It's been nearly 20 years since Kurt Cobain killed himself," that might make me feel old.

So what? Its been nearly 31 years since Ian Curtis killed himself....or even more.....Louis Armstong's "West End Blues", a jazz classic, was released 83 years ago.

#7 Posted by melcene (3056 posts) -
@Unknown_Pleasures: And if you grew up listening to Ian Curtis I imagine it would make you feel old.  Though I doubt there are people here that were listening to West End Blues upon its release.

Personally, it's odd to think that it's been nearly 20 years since Cobain's suicide because I was in high school at the time, and it's odd to think that its been nearly 20 years since I was in high school.

What you don't think there are any 90 year olds on this website? :P

I don't feel old or older due to this thread.

Now if you said Mario Sunshine is your first Mario game then I might feel older than I've ever been.

Well, it's nearly 151 years ago to the day (April the 9th, to be precise) that the first man made recording of sound was created. By a Mr Édouard-Léon Scott de Martinville, no less.

NOW HOW OLD DO YOU FEEL!?

#14 Posted by teh_destroyer (3567 posts) -

Fuck you, I should slap you for making me think that far back.

#15 Posted by WhiskerMeister (30 posts) -

Huh, I had to look up who Kurt Cobain was. Turns out he died a year before I was born, almost to the day. Creepy stuff!

That is all.

Edit: WhiskerMeister just won the "making me feel old" prize for not knowing Cobain. Well done.

Might have waited for april 1 for this post to get started, yeah everyone has this especially when they start releasing some dvd of a movie you saw in the theater which you fondly remember with the addition of 10/20/30 year anniversary. Honestly the best thing to do is to stop paying attention to it as everyone is getting older one tick of the clock at a time all the time.

How can anyone not know who Kurt Cubain is? Even if you've never liked or listened to Nirvana I don't see how that is possible. Everyone has heard "Smells Like Teen Spirit" a billion times, regardless if they wanted to or not.

I admit, this gave me a good chuckle.

Huh, I still remember picking up the Discovery album. I remember hearing One More Time on the radio and enjoying the hell out of it. Had no clue who Daft Punk was at the time. I'm glad I got that album. Also, there are way too many things out there that will make anyone feel old.
