I'm Making a Giant Bomb Card Deck: The King of Spades

Some of you may remember that about a month ago I made this blog about me making a Giant Bomb card deck. I've been kind of busy since then (and I kinda sorta forgot that I decided to do this thing) but I finally finished the second one. It's the king of spades featuring none other than Jeff Gerstmann. Hope the face is recognizable. It was a pain in the ass to draw Jeff's face on the template.

Let me know what you all think and which card you guys think I should tackle next! I'm also open for any ideas you guys might have!

Nice and subtle. I like it.

Maybe the change is a bit too subtle, though? I feel like you wouldnt immediately associate this with Giant Bomb, unlike your previous card.

Amazing. And to be frank, the more subtle the better - you can't tell this is Giant Bomb unless you know GB. GIVE ME MORE.

Yea I was thinking the same thing. I was thinking of changing the design of the clothes but wasn't quite sure what to add there. Any ideas?

The Jack of Spades has to be Brad.

I quite like that it's mustache'd Jeff.

It looks like that Rival Videogame Website guy with the mustache. And some suggestions: change the clothes to his CCCP clothing, or make his face like that weird sketch.

Oh, I immediately went with Patrick as the Jack, with Brad making a very fetching Queen of Spades.

Which staff members are you looking to include? I know you've made/mentioned Ryan, Jeff and Vinny so far. That leaves Brad, Patrick, Alex, Drew, Dave and maybe old interns if you want to stretch it. I'm not suggesting you should make all of these, I'm curious as to whom you are considering.

Suggestion: Coloured joker = Luchadeer. Black and White joker = Batman.

Other suggestion: Suits determined by role at GB: Core editors Ryan, Jeff and Brad = Spades. Other editors Alex and Patrick = Diamonds. Flight club members Dave, Vinny and Drew = Clubs. And then misc for Hearts eg. GB logo

Subtle's good though! Looks fine as is... don't want it looking tacky.

Thanks man, those are some great suggestions! I was actually already thinking of making Batman and Luchadeer the two jokers! Your idea of separating the suits by role at GB is a neat idea. I think I might actually go that route!

Maybe the GB bomb over the spades, something to show what it is affiliated with. Other than that where can I order my deck?

This looks really nice but as others have said, it's a bit too subtle. It would be nice to have just a little more.

It's really looking great so far though, keep it going.

I might try that with the next card. Hopefully I'll actually complete the whole deck someday. Would be awesome to see it in the GB store, although the chances of that happening are ridiculously small. At the very least I'm thinking of making at least one which I can send to the crew. No idea where I'd go to get a custom card deck made though.

Why is Jeff a King and not an Ace?

Those regular cards don't really have a special design though. I could try to style the different pips a little.
