Ok, so I know it's probably cool to not like Tim Burton or something because he's popular or whatever. I don't know. I for one could sit and look at his films for hours. I'm not even bothered about plot. Something which will work really well with my favourite book Alice's Adventures In Wonderland, as there kinda is no plot.
I have 7 various different copies of Alice In Wonderland, all printed in different decades. I'm a bit of an obsessive fan really. Anyway - mainstream as it may end up being (you're not allowed to like things that are popular), I simply can't wait for Tim Burton's Alice In Wonderland.

Sweet. I think i've only seen 'Alice's Adventures in Wonderland' rather than the Disney animation and all that, but the odd scenes and characters certainly captured my imagination. It's Tim Burton, so if the craziness factor is being upped, it should be quite a compelling watch.

So is this going to be a musical? if they make up new music and its like that last musical Burton made, count me out. The visuals look awesome though, so I'm hoping if there is music it is the same stuff from the original Disney Movie.
I'll admit it right here, I'm a Tim Burton fan myself. His style never ceases to entertain me. That being said, those pictures also never cease to creep me the fuck out, but it only intrigues me to see the movie. Hope it turns out well.
@EVO: Not so much a remake as an adaptation. Its a book for Christs sake, and thus far no one has got it right, including Disney. Alice in Wonderland is one of my favorite books of all time (I have in my possession one of the first editions) and I always said Tim Burton is the guy to do it. Now my wish comes true, I am bursting with excitement.

Yeah I don't like musicals very much myself so if it is, you can count me out as well...
I was onboard right until the writers description of the film being rewritten with 'a blast of girl power'
Also- when is tim burton goning to do his own film? rather than a remake or adaptation of another media, painted in another colour scheme with his wife and johnny depp in it so the 13 year old emos flock to it

Its a very bizarre, creepy take on the whole thing. The Cheshire Cat is the shit in that game. I almost got him as a tattoo when I was thinking about maybe getting one.
@OmegaPirate: I don't know what to take out of the statement "a blast of girl power" but I also don't see what's so inherently wrong with that. Alice is a very forthright character in the book. In fact, she's a very stroppy, rude and ignorant child -- which is something I suppose you could say would be unexpected from Victorian children.
Besides, I quite like girlie things. I go in clothes shops and I weep when I see the colour of the girls section as opposed to the mens section. I really do.
My only gripe with any of the Alice movies are that they try to mould Through The Looking Glass and Adventures In Wonderland together under this new hat of "Alice In Wonderland" -- granted it's a much more convenient title but I think I'd rather they seperated the two stories like intended.

Indeed- a lot of people may be misled when they see this- the majority of the general public have only really got the disney version exposure when it comes to alice - which is a shame as it is quite a delicious tale in its own dark way -
As for the clothes thing? i kinda get where youre coming from, id just much rather there was something other than horizontal stripes for guys at the moment.
And yeah you could be right about the girl power thing- im just very skeptical whenever i hear that phrase, because usually shortly after its followed by me cringing
