why would a pet shop suck?  Don't you get to hang out with puppies and kittens?

When your young with retail jobs out there a dime a dozen you shouldn't have a problem finding something else.  The only other good advice I can give is don't quite till you get something else lined up...  But yes this also makes complications for getting out of work for a interview, so you have to get out quick.  Since your a gamer you should get one with gamestop, thats one place I always thought about getting a job with and never did.

Shitty jobs are shitty, do good in high school, put your energy into homework, studying, taking tests and attendance and worry about shitty jobs last.  If you keep that up though college you won't have to deal with shitty jobs, and trips to cali will be more likely.

Don't be a dishwasher.  That job will destroy your back from what I've heard.

There's a pretty big market in the grave robbing business. You could go to school by day and ravage the dead by night.

For where your at I'll say get a job that interests you some what.  Don't worry about pay, career growth or anything like that.  If you are really into computers get a job doing anything related to tech support.  If you are really into music get a job at a record store, stuff like that.  It will help you figure out what you may or may not want to do for your "career".

Do the job you'll enjoy over the job that pays more. Going to a job you hate every day will only serve to drive you insane.

I'd go for the one that pays most. Everyone's going to have to deal with a shitty job at some point. Knowing that you won't always have to work there has always been a good motivation for me when dealing with shitty jobs. Also, get to know the people you work with, that helps...alot.
