Internet hacker gangs attack ACS:Law and release everything
4chan make headlines again this time for going after a Law firm that is apparently notorious for targeting people who pirate stuff online like porn, cds, movies and whatever else.
They decided to get a hold of a ton of ACS:Law's private information and the personal details of everyone the Law firm targeted, including what they were being targeted for i.e. what pornos they downloaded etc.
They then released the details of over 5000 people to the public via The Pirate Bay. You can go and check it out now and you may find someone you know if they are using Sky Broadband.
I doubt The Pirate Bay and its user base will be too happy with them doing this. I mean, posting the details of thousands of alleged file sharers on a popular torrent site?...
I can only assume something found in the info they grabbed will shed a bad light on ACS:Law .
Anyone else read up on this or found anyone they know within the info?
Nice. It was them who falsely accused me of downloading some Ministry of Sound collection and wanted £375 off me.

wait....So hackers hacked the files that a law firm had gathered on hackers and then posted said information on a hacker website to let other hackers know who these hackers are?
pretty interesting. it is good that they would do that to the people that want to make the law. i just think that it is stupid for that to happen. people should just get deal with piracy and try to stop it instead of hunting down people. there are going to be new ways of pirating instead of using torrents.
I'm confused. They took the personal data of people being targeted by the firm, and then posted that data online?
....well, okay, maybe I'm looking at this wrong (if I'm understanding it right), in that the hackers didn't want to help the people being targeted but just wanted to damage the guys targeting them?
" wait....So hackers hacked the files that a law firm had gathered on hackers and then posted said information on a hacker website to let other hackers know who these hackers are? "No.
Hacker, hackers, hacker hacker HACKERS hackers hacked hacking hackers.
Got it?

I read that the 4chan guys released the information of over 9000 people, not 5000.
Guess I got mixed up somewhere, eh?
" wait....So hackers hacked the files that a law firm had gathered on hackers and then posted said information on a hacker website to let other hackers know who these hackers are? "Ow. My Head :(
" What the hackers did doesn't make any sense. They're only hurting those who were already targeted. "Well under their logic they're exposing breaches of privacy and bullying tactics to extort money for potential copyright infringement. This damages the companies reputation, and has already attracted the attention of quite a few lawsuits.
ACS are cunts, they sent me a letter claiming i downloaded porn and asked for 500 quid.
Long live 4chan! Just don't make me ever go there again
Going to see if my info is on said document
" Nice. It was them who falsely accused me of downloading some Ministry of Sound collection and wanted £375 off me. "Damn, and I thought I had it bad when my ISP called my house twice about torrenting movies. You didn't have to pay, did you?
Lol This chick is just asking for trouble:
http://www.bbc.co.uk/newsbeat/11430299
We know she's called Claire,
We know she's from Shropshire,
We know she was accused of downloading "Chubby Chasers"
We know from what she said there's gotta be a shadow of a doubt her fell did it....
The whole world has that list now, just to make sure they're not on it themselves...
So we can find her full address...
She put her picture up on the BBC website in that article so we can find her on facebook.
Via her friends list we can find her fella's name...
Then all is left to do is mail a copy of Chubby Chasers 2 to that address with her blokes name on it.
And to unlock the dick-bag achievement: Use all that personal data to accidentaly bump into her in her local supermarket 3 or 4 days later and pick her up on the rebound. Then While your having a nice candle lit dinner tell her you've always been attracted to the larger lady.
It's cyber-sociopathy 101 really ;¬P
Kidding aside the BBC are fucking idiots if any of the information in that article is genuine. Every one in the world has her address and they go and show a picture of her so the Shropshire-Ripper can get himself a sexy new Claire-suit.... That or dicks like me can mail her empty DVD boxes with fat-chick porn sleeves on them.
No. I sent them a letter of denial and didn't hear anything back. They had no proof and considering how they weren't asking me for anything other than to pay in exchange for letting me keep the download, it just sounded like shady bully tactics." @HandsomeDead said:

EDIT:
@StaticVoidMain: Speaking of shady bully tactics, I like how in that BBC interview, they ask her to prove that she's innocent rather than questioning the company that's making the claims.
" Good for 4chan, keeping us safe from corporations. "and any one with different opinions then the majority of 4chan...
