iPod Touch 3.0, apple ripped me off,

Okey so i downloaded the 3.0 update from iTunes for my 2nd Gen iPod Touch 32GB and the fucker doesnt work. I bought it(wtf it costs money?) and it downloaded it and then it updated my iPod(apple logo and progress bar on the device was shown) but when it was done i checked it out and it still said version 2.2.1(or something) and no sign of the new features anywhere.
Has anyone else had this problem? Why the hell doesnt it work?

Most of the new features were more catered to the iPhone and not the iPod touch anyways, paying for it was your own faulty decision in my opinion.

They charge you for updates? O good god, you apple people are suckers!

Charge for an update?  That seems ridiculous.  I am getting an iPhone later in the week though.  I am very excited because I have always enjoyed using my friend's.  I like how sleek and responsive it is.  I have never run into any problems when using it and he has had nothing but good to say about it.  I am going to be buying the 16gig one though, not the newest one.
