Is Giant Bomb like Australia in 1770's??? - Off-Topic

Hello!
I believe a little bit of history is repeating itself here at our beloved Giant Bomb!
Factfinder:
In 1770 the eastern half of Australia was claimed by the British and initially settled through penal transportaion to the colony of New South Wales! i.e. all scum were sent off to Australia!
Today I have been reading a lot of posts of people, who were perma banned from other forums like GS("I got perma banned for licking cats and talking about hamburgers) etc. and who have found a new and more loving home here at GB.

To be clear.. not all australian's were "perma-banned" from the UK..we cam on a airplane from sicily like vinny did.

I dont see too many drunken Irishmen laughing at Gamespot for sending them to paradise. I mean Im one..but I've only seen like 3 others.

Yep, I'm another permaban 'fugee. I came from The Escapist. Honestly, I kind of miss it. The people where great, but the mods were like little power mad dictators who would ban people for looking at them funny, and had nothing that even resembled an even hand in applying their hammers. I told one of them he was displaying "distressing puerility" after he created a thread in which to start a flame war and insult anyone who disagreed with him, and that was pretty much all it took.

It's good to see a place where the outcasts can get together though. This place seems to have a lot more of the independent spirt I crave, and I'm looking forward to spending a lot of time here.

Its not that hard to get into trouble on some websites. I posted on GS off topic today and got a fucking mod warning for the dumbest shit. All I did was share a historical painting of cambodian soldiers playing AK47 skeet shoot with babies. It was a freaking painting out of a museum for fuck sake.
