Everytime I wake up my body starts shaking on and off for the first 10-15 minutes. And if I happen to yawn then I shake really badly. Is this a normal thing? This morning I spilled my coffee shaking and I am pissed.

What? No. Seek medical attention ASAP.

You're probably dying.

Not the way you describe it no; I occasionally yawn and my muscles kind of vibrate/activate at the start of the day (immediately after waking) but that's only like 15-45 seconds long or so

You should really see a doctor or at least call and tell them what you told us, you can post on the forums later.

Probably some temporary condition, go see a doc.

Sounds like early Parkinsons. Get that checked out.

Unfortunately, what you are describing is not normal. Please consult a trained medical professional.

In all seriousness, go an see a doctor.

Sounds like bad circulation. Do you sleep in a lot of clothes perhaps?

Occasionally I get a chill that comes over me and I shake but I don't shake violently to the point of spilling my coffee. Seek help.

Can I have your stuff?

Doesn't sound normal. You should definitely look into it. I yawn and stretch out my muscles in the morning and there's a bit of vibration in my muscles from that, but it lasts only as long as the stretch does. Nothing anywhere near the level of interfering with coffee drinking.

Are you a heavy drinker?

Sounds like you have a case of The Jacksons

@azimuttyo No, it's not.

Are these involutary muscle spasms or is this shaking like you have a cold fever?
Do you have any difficulty speaking (aphasia) or trouble pronounciating (dysathria)?
Did you recently take a blow to your head or fall on your head?
Does this happen when coughing or forcing yourself on the toilet?
Did you recently stay up very late (like nightshifts)?
Do you have a history of epilepsy, for example as a kid?
Do you lose a bit of urine when you shake like that?

Since it's after yawning, I think you might have a severe vagal (nervus vagus) overreaction to yawning.

I don't think it's anything serious and there is no need to be scared by conditions such as Parkinson. But I suggest you see a docter since an unchecked condition like this can lead to problems.

I was going to say low blood sugar.

Have something sweet to eat before bed and see if you shake in the morning?

Go see a doctor.

With as many "Hey guys is this horrible injury bad?" topics we get now it would be used pretty often.

Broke both your clavicles?
Does your breath smell like freshly baked bread?
Did you drink uncertified breastmilk and you wonder if you can get HIV because of it?

Low blood sugar does not seem very plausible. People with really low blood sugar start shaking uncontrollably and sweating (sympatic signs) for long stretches of time. If there was something wrong with his blood sugar, he'd be shaking in his sleep as well and would continue to shake untill he had a meal. Also, there is a overt reaction to yawning. Your way of thinking is not bad though.

Don't scare TC with Parkinson, low blood sugar or overreact that he should search medical attention ASAP. It's like one of those Yahoo questions. Someone would ask a question about a poorly healing wound on the tip of his finger and get diagnosed with pancreatic cancer in the end.

I should mention that I'm currently in my third year of med school, but that doesn't mean you should take my advice as truth. Consult the internet always at your own discretion.

If you think you are having a medical emergency, dial 911 immediately and seek medical attention. Otherwise, see a doctor about this stuff.
