Yes.

#4 Edited by myketuna (1736 posts) -

Nope.

I spoke Spanish first. I learned English very quickly thanks to my impressionable and young mind.

Technically Spanish is my native language. I learned English when I went to school and it eventually became my primary language and my Spanish skills declined. I never learned how to write in Spanish, but if you sound everything out the words essentially come out correctly enough.

#24 Posted by Marz (5667 posts) -

yup, though i was raised knowing both english and spanish.. primarily speak english.

#25 Edited by Clonedzero (4200 posts) -

Yup.

I don't know any other language. I actually totally failed Spanish in highschool. Though that might be cus on like the first day before spanish class i got high, and then totally called my Spanish teacher a stupid cunt to her face. Not my proudest moment and by the way she treated me and graded me i dont think she ever forgot it.

Though i live in New England, who speaks Spanish here? (probably more than i think?). If i lived in California or something i'd probably care about learning Spanish, while i'd love to learn Japanese i think Spanish is the most practical language to learn while living in the US.

(And yes, the reason i'd LIKE to know Japanese is purely due to video games and anime, i HATE subtitles. You gotta read whats going on in any dialogue so its distracting you from the animation and whats going on visually in the scene its awful. Dubs, even AWFUL dubs are better than subtitles, cus at least i can watch the scene, hearing a language i dont know doesn't add anything to the scene. This is coming from someone who turns on subtitles at the start of EVERY game i play, simply so if someone has a weird accent or if a truck or something is driving by i can still understand things.)

This was way too long of a rambling post eh? Well fuck you!

Bukan (nope). 30% of non-native speakers is much higher than I expected! GB posts seem to generally have good English, in comparison to some other sites.

Nope, my native language is icelandic, I'm alright at reading and writing english, and I can understand instructions on pasta and soup packets in danish, norwegian, swedish and german, which I found to be a fairly necessary skill when I went to university.
