While watching Death Note I stumbled across the band Maximum The Hormone, who does the second intro song. Anyway I would like some suggestions for bands similar to them. Really the only other band like them that I know would be The Mad Capsule Markets. The bands don't have to be specifically Japanese.
Japanese bands
Dir en grey.
Their early stuff verges more on a mix between visual kei and punk (Missa EP - Kisou), their middle stuff is more progressive mixed with industrial metal (Six Ugly EP - Withering to Death), and their more recent stuff is a mix between raw metal, thrash, and a tiny injection of black metal (Marrow of a Bone - Higashesa to... Single). With that variety of styles they probably have something that would interest you, and honestly the only two Japanese bands I care about are MTH and Diru even though I should give more a chance.
Some recommended songs to check out which cover most of these styles (in chronological order) would be: Zan, Embryo, Obscure (which has my favorite music video), Clever Sleazoid, Dozing Green, and Hageshisa to...
When I initially read the title maximum the hormone came to my head already. My exposure wasn't from Deathnote however (it was some web show), so i bring you.
I listened to music in the 90s, US ANIME NINETIES.
So instead of any of those bands, I will post something else entirely.
Probably not what you had in mind, but that's how I roll.

According to my jigger its "Bulldog Mansion - Happy Birthday To Me"
I'm amazed that no one has suggested Melt-Banana. They are a noise rock band from the 90's endorsed by bands like Sonic Youth, and No Age.
This is the other right answer." I'm amazed that no one has suggested Melt-Banana. They are a noise rock band from the 90's endorsed by bands like Sonic Youth, and No Age.

" @SumDeus said:The Pillows! Definitely some quality music there." @Rockdalf said:March of Good every morning. Its amazing. Happy Biouvic is good too. "" Favorite J-Rock band = The Pillows. It's like Nirvana and The Beatles had a love child. "Listening to Hybrid Rainbow...this is good stuff. "
