I just got my second promotion in a little over two years to Systems Engineer. I started as a contractor doing Tier 2 Help Desk, got hired and promoted to Systems Field Engineer, and I just got called in an office by the boss and bosses boss and got promoted to Systems Engineer. This was my original 5-6 year goal and I did it in 2. Now what do I do for the next 20 years?
Just got another promotion today
Go into game development i hear it's lucrative!
Honestly i think you always want room to grow so if you're feeling stifled may want to take a while to maybe build your skillset then see where you can go that offers greater opportunities.
Must be nice to be proficient at your job... *sighs*
@ripelivejam: I've got a lot to learn and absorb right now with my new duties but my concern is what should I do a few years from now when I learn that backwards and forwards as well?
I assume this is a Star Trek reference...
If I made one it's unintentional. What are you talking about?

I'm talking about Giordy or whatever the hell his name is, and how he was a Junior engineer one season and Senior the next or something. That's all gathered from either podcast tangents or brief mentions elsewhere.
