How did Columbia spend so much on promotion if I've never heard of her?? Keep in mind I work at a music TV channel, so I hear of everybody...and if Columbia was really spending so much we would've interviewed her by now.

Not a day went by that we didn’t hear Kreayshawn. Columbia then spent truck loads to make sure she got to co-host parties and events at big time music awards like MTV Video Awards.
Releasing an album a full year after you drop one of the hottest singles last year? (Take your personal preference out of the equation) That is just a recipe for disaster. And she was pretty much every where in heavy rotation. Should of struck while the iron was hot.

once she signed to columbia there just wasn't any music until this summer. can't go a year without any singles. and gucci gucci was ghostwritten and her recent songs "breakfast" "go hard" were obviously not. she isn't talented as a rapper, and shouldn't have signed that deal in the first place. she is cool and creative but not in rapping, needs to find something else. such as hosting a radio or tv show.

I've listened to a couple of her songs. I though she was pretty good. She at least seems to have an understanding of how to rap unlike most idiots that come along.

The difference between Bieber and Kreayshawn is that Justin Bieber is talented. His music is bubblegum garbage, but he is a very capable singer with a good voice. Kreayshawn put out one enjoyable rap seemingly by dumb luck, and has since proven that she can't rap or sing to save her life, nor can she write clever lyrics. She shouldn't even be making music at all, let alone be trusted with a million-dollar contract on a major record label. She's in over her head.

Not super surprised. Never got the Kreayshawn love, she's pretty awful. You'd be better off listening to Nova Rockafeller if you're gonna listened to something Gerstmann endorsed. She can actually rap, thats a pretty good start.

Wait really....... Well at least she has a really nice (huge) ass. And she has a really hot Australian accent even though she raps in an Atlanta accent. Shes a nice person in interviews too.

Money can buy you a spot on the radio, not popularity. She is a popular "internet thing" for sure. Unlike Tyler the Creator though, which is rap that white hip kids don't have to feel embarrassed about listening to, she had next to no flow, lyrical prowess or anything outside of a robust persona. The reason her album bombed is because people liked watching her videos for the trainwreck aspect and with time some of the beats kinda grew on you - no one enjoys kinda bad music just blasting out your radio without the funny visual stimulus. If she had tried getting the same sort of attention with just demo tapes, no video, just pure audio then no one would pay attention in the slightest.
This is what happens when you get a lucky break and one of your songs hits it big and then you wait almost 2 years to release an album all the while being unable to reproduce any of the magic of your breakout hit.
