So, yesterday was the launch of ARTPOP Lady Gaga's new album so obviously she is going to be around in the media for awhile promoting it. I think it was yesterday she had a interview with Howard Stern that lasted nearly 2 hours. I'm listening to it now and she is being pretty honest and open about things so far. If you've ever been interested to hear Gaga talk as herself and not the character she plays give it a listen.

Also, on a side note check out ARTPOP its way better than her previous album.

I'll have a listen, completely agree that Artpop blows Born This Way out of the water.

Aura is such an awesome opening track.

@secondpersonshooter: Aura is such a bizarre and amazing sounding song. Then she has ballads, and even a straight up hip-hop song with Jewels and Drugs. The album goes a number of fascinating places.

You know what, I've come to really like Gaga both musically and stylistically. Although I've yet to give this album a listen, I'll check this out when I get the chance.

I will definitely check this out. Howard Stern is both a terrible interviewer and a great one because he just doesn't give a fuck.

I liked her better when she was a stripper

But for Howard's arse kissing, this was a very insightful look at LGaga.

I used to be okay with Stern, but somewhere around 2002 or so he started doing these creepy, sexually charged, rape-y segments with a sybian. Some of the women were no doubt game for anything, but others you could hear in their voices how uncomfortable they were. As interesting as it would be to hear Gaga drop her shtick for an interview I have no desire to listen to Stern.

Same. Stern obviously did a lot for radio and freedom of speech in the '80's and '90's and I respect him for that but now he's just a douche surrounded by yes men. I prefer Opie and Anthony personally, they've outed Stern for being a hypersensitive twat plenty of times in the past.

She's not anymore? Did you see her VMA appearance?

Yes ever since he left standard radio for satellite and dating that acterss/model he lost alot of credibility. The whole fun was seeing what you could get away with on censored air. On satellite it was just not as entertaining.

Agreed, this album is really fun and better than BTW. I do like BTW though. Gonna give this interview a listen.

@oldirtybearon: Any of those segments I was aware of were 100% porn actresses who were paid and were just doing another gig. I haven't plumbed the depths of his content but I dont think they were random girls who were pressured into doing it.

Did she ride the sybian? That sounds like the kind of stunt Gaga would pull.

No, it sounds like the sort of stunt my culturally-illiterate grandmother would think she'd pull.

Yeah, I don't hate really anything shes done but I think Fame Monster and ARTPOP stand high as her two best albums.

I like to listen to and watch Lady Gaga when she's not doing a Lady Gaga thing. She's got a fine brain and a hella interesting personality closer to the likes of us than you can imagine.

#22 Posted by Demoskinos (14524 posts) -

@somejerk: Have you ever seen her early music career when she was still going by her birth name Stephanie Germonatta? One of the reasons I really like her is she really shows an appreciation for music she isn't just a drone run by the music industry and she likes all types of music. She is way smarter than people give her credit for.

Thats impossible since she would have to know how fucking desperate Lady Gaga and her handlers were when Katy Perry was kicking her ass.

You're funny that you think she even cares about Katy Perry.

@demoskinos: I think it's a shame that this woman is actually fairly talented vocally, and yet nobody gave a shit until she started wearing meat and changed her name. With so many "artist"(I use the term for lack of a better one) using auto tuning and pitch correction, not as a tool to improve workflow, but as a crutch to avoid their lack of talent, its nice to know at least one popstar can sing.

Unfortunately in the video her band is dead, and the guitarist gets a little sloppy in a couple of parts. Her vocals are the saving grace.

Now, the live cover of this song that 311 does on "Live in New Orleans 311 Day" is great, especially when you consider that they played for over 5 hours straight that evening. If you like this song you should check it out.

#27 Posted by Manhattan_Project (2115 posts) -

@demoskinos: Yeah I'm sure it was just a coincidence that she was telling people to watch a 100 video youtube playlist of her single so it would chart higher (which caused Billboard to publicly state they would not take that bullshit into account). Then theres the contest were buying multiple copies of her single gave fans more chances to win.

Yep, all a coincidence.

I don't even care about Katy Perry but it was funny to see Gaga fans be in denial.
