Anonymous asked:

If Gamespot and Giant Bomb had to wrestle for CBS money, who would win the title?

I should know the answer to that one in a few months…

If GB had more resources and started slowly hiring the right people, it could be the next VICE, just funnier and with less war and drugs and horribleness.

The only person at Gamespot that could even put up a fight is Kevin Vanord. Drew, Vinny and Jeff would just clean up, Brad would obviously be their conniving evil manager. Alex and Patrick could job to the Gamespot crew to make it interesting.

All quick looks are now text files.

I'll pay anything to see someone smash a chair over the back of Tom McShea's head.

Performed through emulators 10 years after the games are released.

Lets be honest the writing has been on the wall. Unfortunate though.

Hope I'm wrong and seeing this as something it's not.

#22 Posted by Clonedzero (4200 posts) -

It's probably just additional funding guys. I doubt GB is going down or anything...

#23 Posted by Andorski (5310 posts) -

Jeff already confirmed that he and Vinny are going to have new video content for Gamespot next year. This isn't new.

I, for one, welcome their eventual synergistic and lucrative merger for great success.

Really looking forward to the new GameBomb dot com.

He's clearly just talking about budget meetings. Nothing to get worried about.

Srsly, how fucking perfect would it be if it ended up being called GameBomb?

#30 Edited by Demoskinos (14830 posts) -

I doubt its anything serious as them shutting down / merging but as said most likely budget meetings for who gets what money to do stuff with.

I assume they didn't get the venture capital Vinny needed for VinnCo's next world rocking innovation.

As someone who despised Gamespot during the fall i've been watching their live stream coverage of the new consoles with Danny O'Dwyer and it's actually pretty good.

The U.S. branch of the insanely popular Russian games site?

And then GameBomb.ru sues GameBomb.com and wins and GameBomb.com closes and GameBomb.ru becomes one of the most popular video game websites. BAM!

#36 Posted by tourgen (4500 posts) -

crazy. Hopefully that means more funds for the GB crew.

#37 Posted by Milkman (16791 posts) -

Well, you said panic and the people have certainly complied.

#38 Posted by Omega (835 posts) -

I learned a long time ago that Giant Bomb will never stay the same for long. The site has always been changing, sometimes good changes sometimes bad changes, but one thing that has always been consistent is that through all the changes Giant Bomb always ends up becoming better than it was before. So I've stopped freaking out about every little comment or curtain pull and just enjoy the site and the guys who work here.

Thanks Cialis.

Totally this.

new year = new budget. the side who spent the most of last years budget without going over will likely secure the same amount if not more for the next year. the side who did better business will probably "win" a slightly larger budget. for more info on how budgets really work, watch the office: surplus lol

Oh god, you just reminded me of the Rodeo QL thing. That whole bit Vinny and Jeff did, and then "Thanks Viagra" was probably one of the most hilarious things I've seen.

Anyway, I'm ready for the CBSI Wrestling Tournaments. Put this membership to good use.

#44 Posted by chrissedoff (2098 posts) -

I must be cursed. This is going to be like that time I bought a subscription to EGM two months before it was shut down.

#45 Posted by Nodima (1203 posts) -

Well, during Jeff's Mixlr this evening he said that Vinny has a new green screen budgeted for either Q1 or Q2, so let's see what other nuggets we can find that suggest you all are quite insane!

#46 Posted by JJOR64 (18992 posts) -

I bet it's nothing to worry about for us.

#47 Posted by Hailinel (24794 posts) -

This isn't any different than other companies with departments jockeying for budget at the start of every year. It's really nothing to worry about.

#48 Edited by The_Nubster (2144 posts) -

All this means is that he's in budget meetings and he's yet to find out how much annual budget they're getting granted.

#49 Posted by Korwin (2864 posts) -

I heard that Jeff totally hit Chris Waters with a bat during that meeting.

#50 Posted by forteexe21 (373 posts) -

Brad is going to win the ladder match by pretending to be injured but suddenly run from backstage and get the briefcase!
