I do love me some Pink Floyd...  Isn't vinyl supposed to have better sound quality?

Vinyl sounds so much better (particularly old, used vinyls) because it has so much character to it. I've got an old copy of Rumours by Fleetwood Mac and it's scratched to hell but it makes it sound so much warmer.
