Seems everyone either hates him or loves him.
WHERE DO YOU STAND?

#2 Posted by Clean (2356 posts) -

I think some of his music is great Lollipop, I'm Me, and a bunch of other songs. Some of his raps has stuff in it that I can relate too even if it does sound a little silly. As a person, I think he's too cocky but he's definitely brings some life into music.

I never found Lil' Wayne to be a leading rapper; he always seemed like Lil' Jon, someone who never really amounted to anything good on his own, but always had some good guest spots. But then I heard "Tha Carter III", and I'm glad I was wrong about him. That is probably the best Hip-Hop album of the year, and I doubt anything will touch it.  Though I can totally see why others aren't too fond of him (as you can see, I wasn't )

Some of his stuff is alright.

He's pretty much the worst rapper alive. But I still find myself listening to him because it's hilarious.

Best mainstream rapper not good lyrically though but Lupe Fiasco is the Sh!T

#8 Posted by RetroIce4 (4392 posts) -

Alright. Certainly not good though. Carter 3 phailed.

#9 Posted by joshrocks2245 (238 posts) -

Hes horrible.
He sounds like hes crying everytime he fucking raps, wtf is up with that??
He is one of the worst rappers i have ever heard in my life, i am surprised he is so popular these days but i guess most people these days like musicians with no talent.

#10 Posted by buyj3llo (121 posts) -

He has creative lines. A lot of his rhymes are creative puns that I haven't heard before.

#11 Posted by ShadowSkill11 (1783 posts) -

Who?

#12 Posted by Fr0Br0 (3100 posts) -

Not hate on his old stuff which was pretty good. Hate on his new stuff which is horrible. Wayne needs to get off whatever the hell he is smoking and start making rhymes that make sense.

Not hate, nor love.

His generic name matches is generic music.

#24 Posted by ZenGaijin (125 posts) -

I don't listen to him I like "Mr Carter" but hearing him think that hes one of the best rappers is bost alarming and depressing.

If it wasn't for Lupe Fiasco I'd lose all faith in new artists.

Like him a lot I think he's among of the best rappers of this generation. There are definitely more underground guys that are better in terms of the big time guys, he's definitely the most real.

I hate him
why? for this stupidly annoying song:

What the hell is so real about him?

I like him, but I don't like the way he's evolved recently. I think he peaked at Da Drought 3 and haven't really maintained that level.

#31 Posted by UnsungGamer (28 posts) -

He's been my favorite rapper since middle school, and I truly believe he is the best rapper of all time.

His underground stuff has always been great (and in some cases slightly better than his official albums), but Tha Carter III has become my favorite hip hop album of all time. It's amazing. Love "Playing with Fire", "Shoot me Down". His style (aesthetically) is really cool as well.

#32 Posted by albaker (437 posts) -

IMO extremley overrated after the Carter 3 but SOME of his rhymes are okay,

I'm not really into the "crunk ass" music of rap and hip hop, I'm more into stuff like Mos Def and The Roots.

I don't get why we need a million people who do the same thing. Neither.

#34 Posted by Cube (4366 posts) -

He was my favorite rapper until Auto Tune and C3.

Terrible rapper now. Honestly.

#35 Posted by KR3W619 (25 posts) -

He is ok :\ but not "THE GREATEST RAPPER EVER" like some people think

#36 Posted by Hell_Dude (47 posts) -

He's a rapper or something?

#37 Posted by BlackSuitAndTie9 (289 posts) -

I don't hate him, but I can't stand his music.

Best this year? Wow.

I'd take Nas' untitled over Carter III.
