Samsung aren't bad, a quick google brings up stuff like this 26" 720p LCD HDTV for under $500. I'd get a 10% discount on that because my grandfather was the top salesmen at our local Sears during his retirement years.

That Samsung 26" TV looks like a pretty good choice. It's the #1 highest rated TV in the power search that I linked you, and it fits your specifications.

Can't you just borrow an HDTV from your grandmother and never give it back, like I did? Ha... Nah, the Samsung is perfect for you.

...now to start saving up for that HD projector.

If you live in the states; NewEgg.com you can get a 32" for about 550 shipped without tax. I paid 600 for my 32" Sharp about 6 months ago and love it. You are silly for going HD on something so small you won't even notice the difference at anything less really. You'd essentially just be buying a computer monitor.

I picked this http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16889198002 out for my parents but couldn't fit a 37" in their entertainment center so looking for a 32.

And don't buy from a major store outlet like Sears or BestBuy; you're gonna end up paying a ton in taxes and shipping (most likely) its not worth it. NewEgg is great.

I think my Dad got mine for around $500. It's a 32" HDTV and I haven't had any problems with it.

Might respond tomorrow with the company name and a link. But I'm tired at the moment. I will tell you that he got it from Sam's Club. So if you would like to walk in some stores tomorrow, try Sam's Club or Meijers. See what comes out of it.

Get a 32 then and put your consoles behind it. The power of wireless controllers. I have a 32" in my bedroom...its not a big room and i have plenty of junk...make some space you are wasting money on a 20" HDTV. 26" would be my minimum purchase.

Go Vizio if price is that much of a concern. Something like this http://www.walmart.com/Vizio-32-LCD-HDTV-VW32L/ip/5623472 If you go any smaller then that, you may just want to stick to crt.

I have a 42" Vizio and I love it. No it isn't a fancy Aquos, but it gets the job done and nice discount to the big names.

That monitor costs $299 in Canada. Probably cheaper in the U.S. It is 23" and it is 1080P. With the near $200 he saves, he can easily get a DVI - HDMI converter cable which cost practically nothing.

At 23" 1080p is not worth any premium in my opinion. I can barely notice a difference between 1080p and 720p on my 42".

So your problem is the lack of built in speakers? You can get pretty great speakers with the money you saved which would be better then built in speaker. I would know because I have a similar setup.

And you don't know what you are talking about though...

The 22 and 26 models have some good Panasonic and Samsung models; personally wouldn't go that small but if thats all the space you got; go for it.

Did I say that? Why don't you actually go up and read what I said before posting asinine comments.

EDIT: I'd rather not return to elaborate what I mean. The speakers that I currently have have optical inputs. Since, Sunny has a PS3, all he would need to do would be to get a speaker system that has optical and he could then get both audio and video running. Speakers like that can be found for around $100. Doing that would give him a nice 1080 monitor/tv. However, I care not if he wants to do that or not. I just gave an idea. Au revoir.

HDTV are overrated.

Save up for a 3d ready HDTV.  Trust me, or you will kick yourself up the ass.

I'm serious dude.  3d movies and games have a strong chance of coming out late 2009-2010.  With Avatar coming out this year, and all new Disney movies doing it...you can bet your ass that 3d will be a big thing.
