The Truman Show, Groundhog Day, Ratatouille, M*A*S*H, the LOTR trilogy and the first Pirates of the Caribbean movie are all films I have watched multiple times and will definitely watch again.

I don't know why, but me too. The slow-mo scenes are great, and it just feels like a real R movie.

Die Hard, i watch it at least once a year around Christmas time, usually drinking with my brothers yelling out quotes and having a dumb fun time.

Then all the nerd classics, LOTR, star wars 4-6 (especially empire), tremors, willow. terminator, alien/s. indiana jones.

I'm a nerdy guy and i like my fun action flicks.

How many times to you have to watch a movie before you get tired? Because I don't think you can say, "I've seen this movie TWICE and I'm not even tired of it yet!" I'd say maybe five full screenings (not counting watching a scene or two when it's on TV, has to be the whole movie start to finish, no BS "I'll leave this movie on as white noise while I'm cooking or whatever"). If you've seen something 5 times and are down to watch it again then it's fair to say you've tested your tired-threshold for that film rigorously. That's just my own personal opinion though.

Anyway, for me it would probably be Taxi Driver.

  1. The Princess Bride
  2. Labyrinth
  3. My Neighbor Totoro
  4. Jurassic Park
  5. Any Indiana Jones movie (except Crystal Skull - I forgot that one existed)
  6. Back to the Future 1 & 2
  7. Monty Python and the Holy Grail
  8. The Thing
  9. Billy Elliot
  10. Young Frankenstein
  11. Clerks
  12. Raising Arizona
  13. The Goonies
  14. Star Wars (original trilogy)
  15. Best in Show
  16. The Good, the Bad, and the Ugly
  17. O Brother, Where Art Thou?
  18. Jaws
  19. Shaun of the Dead
  20. Hot Fuzz
  21. RoboCop
  22. Starship Troopers

These aren't necessarily in any particular order, but the first several movies definitely deserve their place at the top of the list.

A lot of good lists here, I'm a real filmy so this is no means comprehensive, but here are a few of mine:

Escape from New York (no one's been a bigger bad-ass before or since imo)

Wrath of Khan (not even a big ST fan, this is just a great film on its own)

Blade Runner (call it slow if you want, still think its the best PURE sci-fi movie ever)

The Thing (The Carpenter version, those practical effects scarred me as a child)

The Shinning (Pretty much every Kubrick movie will hypnotize you, but none more than this)

Could watch any of these movies back to back to back and not get the least bit tired.

Matrix should be an easy pick, watched that just last month I think. Shaun of the Dead and Hot Fuzz as well, with The World's End hopefully joining them. Face/Off I've seen a million times, though it has been a while since the last time. Crank, Nightmare Before Chirstmas...eh, I could continue this forever, so I think I'll just leave it at that.

I guess I'll leave "anything with Rifftrax" off the list since that's cheating...

  • Ed Wood (this is easily my #1, there have been SO many days where I've just had some free time and threw it on)
  • Robocop
  • Iron Man
  • Unforgiven (have to be in a REAL specific mood, but I never get tired of it)
  • Starship Troopers

There's plenty of movies I'd enjoy watching again, albeit I rarely do so anymore these days. I'm too old to waste my time on movies I've seen before, and there's always something new that's worthwhile, demanding me to waste my time on it instead.

That said, my current *rewatch* movie is the absolutely amazing Watchmen Ultimate Cut (the 215 minutes long cut including the Black Freighter animation footage), which is essentially a panel by panel translation of the graphic novel.

I don't get the prevalent hate for the flick, nor the bad rap Zak Snyder has these days. All his movies with the exception of Sucker Punch are great. Hell - even his *for the whole family* animation feature was a treat. Man of Steel will hopefully be as awesome as it possibly could be. The trailers sure keep getting more and more promising.

It's quite rare that I can watch a movie more than once or twice. The ones that I can, are usually older movies.

Die Hard, Shawshank Redemption, Blade Runner, and any old school kung fu movie.

@nezza: i rather liked that movie, i ended up re-watching 2 more times, gave me a real warm mass effect vibe. there's something so awe inspiring about space opera that just appeals to my brain. saw 'into darkness' last weekend, that was pretty fucking good too.

  • The Manchurian Candidate (1962)
  • Back to the Future
  • The Matrix
  • Jurassic Park
  • Hellboy
  • Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory
  • Rudy
  • Star Wars IV-VI, especially VI (love Return of the Jedi, love it!)
  • It's a Wonderful Life
  • National Lampoon's Christmas Vacation
  • Robin Hood (Disney)

Kind of all over the place for a list. If I had to cut it down to one, it would probably be Back to the Future. I love that movie so much. :)
