Hey duders. First off, there will obviously be spoilers in this thread. Over the summer I watched the entire first season of Mr. Robot with my brother, and was instantly blown away by the high quality of the writing, acting and not least directing. Needless to say, I've been waiting for a new episode every week since season two debuted back in July. The creator, Sam Esmail, has over the course of barely two seasons of television gone from a virtual unknown, to being one of the most interesting writer-directors I know. Man oh man, this guy knows his stuff.
Although some people are less than thrilled about season two compared the first, personally I've found the season to on level with the first. Last nights fantastic episode basically forced me to create this thread, as I feel the need to discuss this show with some likeminded people.
To those of you who watch the show, I have to questions about the latest episode:
1. Did you guys notice a hidden frame as Elliot and Mr. Sutherland walked in to Elliot's apartment? I could have sworn there was a Fight Club-esque hidden frame there.
2. When Elliot asked us to look around the apartment, did you notice anything special? What is Mr. Robot looking for?
As for scenes that really stood out this episode, the opening scene with Phillip Price (Michael Cristofer is killing it) was just so well acted and written. That character is truly something else. I almost want to root for him, although he is at least halway to being the main antagonist, though such labels are largely useless in this show. Also, the ending scene with the shooting at the diner was brilliantly directed. I'm so anxious to find out who survived that scene. If only one of them will survive, I'm actually hoping for Cisco, as he's just a all around cool dude.
Anyway, I hope we can get some discussion around the show, as it's currently the best thing on TV. What are your predictions for next week?
