Okay, maybe not quite 'broken into', since I left the doors unlocked. Stupid me.
I woke up at around 2 in the morning to the sound of my neighbor from across the street's car alarm going off. I looked out the window to see no one there. My mother told me literally 3 days before that her car recently got broken into and her GPS was stolen, so with this info fresh in my mind, my first thought was that some asshole is going around jacking people's shit. This is a thought that otherwise seldom enters my mind when I hear that offensive and obnoxious alarm noise. The main reason I thought of this immediately was that I had left my car in the driveway, doors unlocked, something I very rarely do. In fact, when I closed the garage door before I went to bed last night and I realized my car was still out there, I felt I was too tired to move it into the garage and thought "everything will be fine". Well guess what? Everything was not fucking fine. I was about to go outside to make sure everything was all right, but decided I was just being paranoid and went back to sleep.
I got in my car to head to work this morning to find both of my doors ajar, the center console lid not all the way closed, and my ashtray lid flipped open. Thankfully I had nothing of real worth in there, apart from my stereo. The only thing missing was my auxiliary cable for my MP3 player, a whole $4 value. But that thing was shitting out anyway, so JOKE'S ON THEM, RIGHT GUYS? I've never had this happen to me before, but it's not a good feeling. The emotion I felt the most is a white hot rage. This seriously pissed me off to no end. I can blame myself for leaving my car outside unlocked, but that doesn't change the fact that some worthless piece of dick scum invaded my personal property and rifled through my belongings. Who the fuck does this? Seriously? I regret not going outside for a chance to find some shitbag looking through my car so I could surprise him and slam his head in the car door. But it's done. It happened and there's nothing I can do about it now. I haven't called the police and I don't think I will, simply because nothing was really taken from me, apart from my own security.
I feel like this has probably been discussed on this site before, but I would love to hear from others who've had this happen to them and how you felt.
