Welcome to GB, you'll notice that its structure is way significantly different compared to other site. There are some videos explaining the wiki and of course there are the general rules but it boils down to dont be a dick and you're cool. Don't hesitate to ask around if anything is troubling you.
Nope not really, however the forums are structured so that every game/object/concept/person/etc.. has its own forum so if you are in to a specific game just check out the game page its forum. When ever something new is posted it will also end up on the main forum page.
Its a bit hard to explain but you'll see, once you realise how it works its really intuitive.
Yes, welcome to Giant Bomb, the greatest website about video games and taxidermy on the internets. I hope you enjoy your stay, because you are never going to leave! Seriously though, this is an awesome site, and the differences here from the other sites is what make it so special.

From what I've seen, there are a larger number of older gamers -- such as myself -- who try to treat each other in a civil manner, and just enjoy our time here. This doesn't hold true for a lot of other gaming sites on the net. Maturity can be hard to come by these days.
Well I believe you are right there. But I will tell you one thing, your forums are one of the best I have ever seen! Pity there are no unions though...
