Obviously I thought it was dumb as hell the first two minutes in, but after the intro, I was already getting intrigued. It's like Spongebob almost, except each episode is like 20 minutes. And one of the things that makes it interesting is the fact it's a show with "My Little Pony" in the title that isn't total bullshit.
Even though, every time I watch this show, I always just feel like skipping the intro song because it feels "below my level".
@laserbolts: The first two episodes of the show aren't great to be honest, but you need to watch them to know the characters and such. It's still enjoyable, but I can see why you'd get turned off. If you're still willing to try and find out what the fuss is about, then I'd suggest watching those two episodes, and then skipping to "party of one", since after episode two you can pretty much watch them in any order you want. "Party of one" is, in my opinion, one of the best episodes the show has to offer, so if you still don't like it after that, then it's probably not for you.
I heard Art of the Dress and was immediately hooked on the show. It is actually a pretty good cartoon, up there wit Adventure Time as far as good cartoons these days go.
I love this god damn show, this thing is so amazing on so many levels.
I mean seriously "She used her unicorn powers to raise the sun" how is that not awesome? What about the fact that her evil younger sister became evil and twisted and became a Nightmare, Nightmare moon!
The wording on it is so fantastic I can't help but love the person that came up with that name.
Its an extremely well made cartoon, great animation and nice crisp colours and detail. That's incredibly rare for cartoons since kids typically don't notice or care, so they can just be incredibly lazy with it, a prime example is Bakugon (Bakugan?), the animation is garbage, and the characters never blink, ever.
So on technical regards, MLP is pretty great, though I haven't seen much of the show itself to know its quality or appeal to myself, but I could see why its popular.
It's a well made cartoon, but it still teaches typical-kid-show-life-lesson-crap that I couldn't care less for and I can't stand all of its cutesy elements.
@laserbolts: Scratch what I said, Spongebob is just too goofy to relate, MLP is a bit more serious. The reason I related them is because each episode is about as random as a Spongebob one, but I guess every TV show is like that unless they're a series.
If you have seen it, you'd understand why it's so beloved. The animation is beautiful, the messages endearing (if cliched), and the Ponies are kind of really likable. The show can be downright hilarious sometimes, and the dialogue is great.
It's a genuinely good cartoon, even given the subject manner. I love it.
Most of the show teaches saccharine life lessons to little girls. And then there's the one episode where the moral is "whining and nagging are totally okay if you're a defenseless little female." That was terrifying.
I finally got around to watching this show, the animation is great, it can be very funny at times, and sweet jesus is it addicting and I feel no loss of manliness for watching it. Also Pinkie Pie is the best!
This show is actually quite good. I'm not a brony, but I've seen that side of the tracks and can say, with some authority, that Bronies are not totally crazy.
The animation for the show seems very good, which is actually pretty significant. Have you guys looked at kid show's recently? They all look like utter shit.
At least I'm glad now that Powerpuff Girls existed BEFORE the internet :/
