ok so little less then an 4 hours ago i made a blog about "my top 5 movies based on books". so i am going to do a list now that is just of my top 5 favorite movies ever. (i was going to do this tomorrow, but i got bored).

5. Tigerland
this is was a small movie when it came out in 2000. the budget was only 7million, very small compared to the 300million that some budgets are today. its about a group soldiers who go to tigerland to get ready for the vietnam war. its about Roland Bozz who is played by Colin Farrell, he doesnt take orders, and he hate the fact of going to war. he befriends Paxton played by Matthew Davis, who wanted to be in the war and is excited to fight in it. well Roland starts to get people to hate him at the camp, and his life gets threatened. he is also slowly become a good leader. he does find out that Paxton is to good of a guy to go to this war. so he makes some sacrifices that make him not seem like that ass he seems to be. this was also colins first major movie. this is one of my favorite war movies.

4. Zach and Miri Make a Porno
ok besides having a totally awesome name, this movie is probably the funniest i have ever seen. Seth Rogan plays Zach who lives with Miri played the Elizabeth Banks, and they need money to pay their rent, so what do they do, they make a porno! easiest plot to follow ever. but its also kinda sweet, because a thing starts to click between the to and some drama will happen. but with moments like the outfit montage, to someone getting "frosted like a fucking cake" this movie is flat out funny. and major props to Craig Robinson who continues to be great in all his movies, he was great in pineapple express, and he was my favorite in this movie, heres a clip of him and his wife, i loved it. justin long also has the best cameo in this movie as well.

3. Observe and Report:
so i like seth rogan if you cant tell, hes one of my favorite actors. and observe and report is other good movie that he is in. he plays Ronnie Barnhardt a mall cop who takes his job was to seriously. he just wants to be a cop. and i dont know if thats the plot of the movie, hell i dont know what the plot even it, they change it constenly. all i know is that this is one hell of a dark comedy. i did not see that coming. hes in love with Brandi who is played by ana faris, but she really shows no interest in him. but damint he keeps trying. but when a streaker comes along Ronnie decides to take the law into his own hands, and well he kinda fails. Ray Liotta plays Detective Harrison, who sees Ronnies urge to be a cop, and he tries to crush it. so basicly hes a dick. the ending is a real FUCK YOU to everyone who over looked him. its a great underdog story, even if hes a tad insane.

 2. Gone Baby Gone
if you read my other movie blog, gone baby gone was #2 on it. and here it is again. so its about Patrick Kenzie (Casey Affleck) and his girlfriend Angie Gennaro (Michelle Monaghan) who are kinda like detectives, they really dont go into detail about it, but they are called to look for a little girl who has went missing. Patrick is kinda a badass, he knows how to get info. but he is also a flawed character, he has morals, and those morals come in big time at the end of the movie. hes constently clashing with Detective Sergeant Remy Bressant (Ed Harris), says they are "kids playing cop" (copied that from the last blog its easier then rewritting it). near the end, Patrick has to make some major decisions, and he loses some people over them. i think casey could take over his brother as the better affleck, i personally dont like ben, i think his acting is bad, though his directing is good. but casey makes partrick come alive and you really seem him fight for what he feels is right, weather it is good or a bad decision is up to you.

1. In Bruges
in bruges is without a doubt my favorite movie i have ever seem. i think its one of those movies you either like it or you dont. is incredibly orginal. its about Ray (colin farrell) and Ken (brendan gleeson) they are both hitmen who are told to go kill a priest. its rays job to kill him, he does but in the act of doing this he kills a kid. so their boss Harry Waters (ralph fiennes) tells them to go to bruges to hideout. and as it is said in the beginning of the movie "Shortly thereafter the instructions came through - "Get the fuck out of London, you dumb fucks. Get to Bruges." I didn't even know where Bruges fucking was.....its in belgium". about the first ten mins of the movie is just Ray dissing the town and hating, and getting into a fight with a fat american (here it is): later on ray will find love with a thief, ken will find that

everyone deserves a second chance. the movies endings is done well, they could have messed it up, but the director Martin McDonagh does it well. it is a "sad" ending in a way, and it is also left open, but i doubt there will be a sequel. its also shot beautifly, i want to go to bruges now. what why go there, whats is famous there?, well as ray says in the movie, "What's Belgium famous for? Chocolates and child abuse, and they only invented the chocolates to get to the kids" <--favorite line in the movie. Also the movie does a great job showing how much Rays character is depressed, it really comsumes him.

alright there you go, those are my favorite movies

thanks for reading

I saw In Bruges, it has its moments, but its pacing is so disjointed that I never found myself immersed in it.

And, according to the poster you put up for Gone Baby Gone, that movie is based on a book.

Also, have you seen any movies released prior to 2000?

Ya know, it's alright with me if someone doesn't have Citizen Kane on their top 5 films list. I'm not a snob like that.

But uh... jesus christ.

Alright I will start out by admitting that I disagree completely but then again, I've made my own top movies list in the past. So they can be found elsewhere. That being said... Gone Baby Gone shouldn't be on this list. It was on your "Top 5 Movies based on Books" and now "Top 5 movies not based on books." It...can't be both. :P Also, Zach and Miri Make a Porno and Observe and report? Seriously man? I don't care if you like Seth Rogen a lot, no way they are on a top 5 list!  As for In Bruges, it was pretty good. As Suicrat said, it had its moments. Not sure I would put it as number one however.

All these being said, these are my opinions and your are your own. I don't mean to say you wrong, just that I wouldn't choose what you did for the reasons I said. :)

Zack and Miri and Observe and Report were top 5 worthy? Wow, i really misjudged these...

Now that I think about it though, all of my favorites except Tropic Thunder are based on books. Hrmmm
