Need a good upbeat acoustic song.
My wife is putting together a photo slideshow for some friends of her's that are opening a new store. The store carries refurbished items bought at garage sales, flea markets, etc... She's looking for a good upbeat acoustic song to have in the background of the slideshow. She doesn't want anything that's been played a million times on the radio though. Any thoughts would be great.
Thanks
Banky
If you're looking for something without lyrics, I would suggest Kaki King. She's incredibly talented and most of her songs do not have lyrics. Here's one song, but I would suggest checking out her other work too. Her song "Playing With Pink Noise" is really nice too, but maybe a little more complex and technical than what you're looking for.
Life is Beautiful from Deadly Premonition
No Children by Mountain Goats (but the lyrics are ridiculously dark; warning)

Since you mentioned Mountain Goats and I mentioned Kaki King earlier, I feel I have to post this. It's a nice song they did together, and it even has a video game connection. It's called "Thank You Mario, but Our Princess is in Another Castle."
thank you moral orel for showing me this song :P
EDIT: YES!!!
Scalliwag by Gaelic Storm
59th Street Bridge Song by Simon and Garfunkel
Bubbly by Colbie Caillat
1234by Feist
Run Aroundby Blues Traveler
Everydayby Buddy Holly
Blackbirdby Sarah McLachlan (Beatles cover) ~ maybe not so upbeat but faster than the original
Should I get into that show? I've tried watching it a few times and every episode I've seen hit some pretty standard "here's why Christians are dumb and we should laugh at them" beats. I mean, I'm an atheist myself, but the parts of MO I've watched came off as more condescending than funny.
Listen to MTV: Unplugged in New York by Nirvana. Most people on the site don't like the band, so they would not agree with me on this, and the lyrical themes aren't exactly upbeat all the time, considering the bands nature, but you really need to check out the first song on the album; mind blowing! You should also check out Here Comes the Sun by the Beatles, although you probably already know it.
" @nofx4208: Oh wow. I've never seen that episode of Moral Orel. Great use of the song! Should I get into that show? I love the show for that; for taking all risks and not giving a shit, and showing what they want to show. The show is neither atheist or christian. They merely mock and make fun of those who abuse christianty and religion for terrible benefits; basically, hypocrites (one might say ALL christians are hypocrites, but that's one's own opinion.) It's a beautiful show, with amazing writing, directing, and characters. You'll care about them all, even if they are flawed... terribly... terribly flawd.
love it :P I mean the humor isn't for everyone, but it's special
