So basically im going away to the Reading music festival this year,

For those not in the knowledge or abroad, heres the site :- http://www.readingfestival.com/
(note that it may be on a splash page as ticket launch is in 2 hours)

So yeah an awesome week of music, fun and much alcohol fuelled hilarity - now i have a request from my fellow bombers,
As we are all aware no festival or camp out is complete without An acoustic guitar and some badass tunes for everyone to drink and love to, so here we go :-

Can you provide me with a list of songs that would be great to play along with a group on aan acoustic - it doesnt matter what it is, it doesnt matter how hard it is (i consider myself relatively good with an axe) and genre is not an issue, Last time it involved mixtures from muse to kate bush, to erasure so anything goes!!

If posssible provide a link to that songs music video and explain exactly WHY this song rocks so much!

I'm going to do you a favour and tell you what song not to play: Wish You Were Here by Pink Floyd. That song screams "I'm a lame douchebag!" And you don't want women to think you're a douchebag, do you?

Kumbaya

Anything by Jimi Hendrix or Bob Dylan is also a must have on a camping / accoustic music trip.

Thats all I got to be honest.....

Okay. You should play Jigsaw Into Place by Radiohead. It's the kinda song that would make a half-stoned girl want to bang you, without making you look like a total douchebag. Just make sure you own it hard.

Nah, it's a thing I hear all the time:

Someone: What kind of music are you into?
Me: I like the classic stuff, my favorite band is Van Halen.
Someone: Oh, I love those guys!
Me: Awesome! Eddie's out of rehab and Dave's back in the band. Once his kid gets his diploma they'll be doing a summer tour, are you going?
Someone: ...I played "Hot for Teacher" in Guitar Her-
Me: Oh... OK fuck you then.

Blues is the truest use of the accoustic guitar. You just need to know how to play it.

Do your fellow Giant Bomber's proud and learn how to play "Still Alive".

Who plays the ukulele still?  Bonus points to her for being unique.
Decent amateur's version on standard acoustic guitar:   http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-zYpnZ5lwtg
John Coultran sings version:  http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sxNmeMklFk8

Also, you should look at a lot of what Neil Young has recorded over his career.
Heart of Gold:http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Eh44QPT1mPE
Needle and the Damage Done: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=k0t0EW6z8a0
Old Man: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dVC2cszdTao
Hey Hey My My (acoustic): http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tY5x8pF512k  Hey Hey My My (electric): http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LYV6PAckr5w

Neil Young's entire career has been an eclectic mix of acoustic folk songs and crank-it-up-rip-the-knob-off rock and roll.  Rust Never Sleeps is the best realization of this, but you may also want to check out Live at Massey Hall '71, Live Rust, and any of the decent "best of" albums out.
