Neighbor stuck yard sale sign in my yard. When can I take itdown?

Okay, so last Friday my neighbors down the street put a massive yard sale sign on my yard (I live on the corner). They never asked if it was cool but I didn't mind to much. Even if the thing is a 3 foot by 4 foot piece of plywood. So it has been there all day Friday, Saturday, Sunday, and now its almost noon and it is still here. It is one thing when people leave their month old signs stuck to telephone poles, but this is a little ridiculous.

So I ask of you, should I wait and see if they take it down? Rip it down now, toss it in the street and blame the weather? Or be a dick and toss it back in their yard?

Be a dick and toss it in their yard. No one should destroy your property (I am assuming it was wood and caused damage to your lawn). I wouldn't of let them put it for that long. It belongs on a car window or on street lamp. Not personal property, especially if it wasn't like a multi-family/block yard sale thing.

Take it out immediately.

Regardless of whether you cared much about it, it's a total dick move to not even ask you. You may have had a huge problem with it, they don't know that, they just assumed. Toss it in their yard and see what they say, if they get huffy about it then politely tell them to ask next time.

Yes. Take it down immediately if the sale is over and give it back to them.

I would have taken it down the first time I saw it.

well it sounds like you dont really know these people since they didn't ask if they could put up a sign, so i would just take it down and throw it in the trash or reuse the wood
they can't expect you to keep it on if they never asked for permission

Wow, I was just going to say you should just go and talk to them and be pretty reasonable about it.

But yeah, tearing it down and throwing it back to them would have been my advice after what they did. If it was on a phone pole or something, I could maybe understand, but just sticking something on your property randomly and then shutting the door on you like that is completely ridiculous.

They basically committed to illegal advertising, and chances are that signs that can be seen from a car like that are illegal, like they are in my country because they can and will take the drivers attention. If they repeat their business, look into the law, maybe call a non-911 number to your friendly police quarters and ask, and mention that those neighbours shut the door on you and acted suspect.

So was there any recourse? Did they come say anything? When is the sale?
Dickhead neighbors like that would probably sue you for loss of business due to you removing the sign.

I've handled this kind of thing before. I recommend:

Tear the sign down

Crush into super-small tiny bits

Eat the bits with milk

Poop out the bits

Take your pooped-out sign and sprinkle it into an apple pie mix

Make the apple pie with the poop in it

Invite the neighbors over for dinner to show no hard feelings

Have them eat the poop-sign pie

Show photos to them detailing whole process after dinner.

Shoulda burned it, and you should have done something when you first noticed it. You can't let your neighbors walk over you like that, even if you don't mind.

If someone put stuff on my property, especially without asking, I would do whatever I pleased with it. Your property, your rules. Maybe they could be a little less lazy and make a simple A-frame so the sign could stand on its own and be put anywhere else, like perhaps on the corner of the sidewalk or something. I approve of how you handled it though especially after how they behaved.

It's not too late to put a sign on their lawn. Just pointing that out.

Get a sledgehammer and hammer it really deep into the middle of their lawn so its a huge bitch to take out. That's rude as fuck, return them in kind!

Buy a ton of wooden posts, paperboard, and landmines. Make a ton of signs with without writing anything on them. Hammer them all around their yard as deep as possible.

Fill the spaces with landmines.

Yeah I was going to suggest he just go by and ask them to get their sign thinking 'nobody could object to that and this way he doesn't burn bridges with his neighbors'. But no, apparently he lives near psychopaths.

You should poop on it for the internet.

Hire a construction crew to take it down and then send them the bill.

ok heres what you do. 
 
1.) remove the sign from your yard. 
2.) drive around and collect as many lawn signs as you can (all those vote for whoever signs and shit). 
3.) spam their lawn with signs. dont leave any open grass at all. 
 
or you can also do this with afew thousand plastic forks 
 
 
edit: ok so aparently they are dicks.  
 
new plan. get some friends. and a few thousand jolly ranchers. and lick them all and stick them all over their cars. if they try to peel them off it rips the paint.  
also poop in their mailbox.
