I was wondering if anyone had any suggestions for non-Horror movies that would still work as 'Halloween' movies? I was thinking about this recently, and I realised that the Wizard of Oz makes an awesome Halloween movie despite not being horror, and I bet there are others also work.
Non-Horror Halloween Movies
To more literally answer your question with non-horror films that feature Halloween directly, there's this: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_films_set_around_Halloween
Also Costume Quest, and TV specials like It's the Great Pumpkin, Charlie Brown.
- Shaun of the Dead
- The Adam's Family movies
- A nightmare before christmas
- Hocus Pocus
- Young Frankenstien
- It's the Great Pumpkin, Charlie Brown
- Ghostbusters
- Beetlejuice
- Gremlins
How about Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory? It's candy themed, and most of those kids are monsters in their own right.
And then there's that the boat ride scene.
Time Bandits.
I don't know if that really works or not, I just think more people need to see Time Bandits.
Also: I feel like this is the time of year everyone wants to watch Labyrinth again, but I've never seen it so I can't say one way or the other.
