Norman Chan was on The Colbert Report last night

I was watching the episode today and had to do a double take. Norm was photographing cosplayers when he encountered Stephen cosplaying as "Hawkcat." I'm not sure Norm knew what was happening. To be fair, I'm still not sure.

That is pretty awesome. Apparently he didn't sign the release form so they could only use a few seconds of footage with him. Not quite sure why he didn't sign it though.

That's pretty funny! I wonder if judging by the voice, Norm later found out that was Stephen Colbert in that Hawkcat outfit.

He discussed it on the Tested podcast a few weeks ago. Basically, he was suspicious why he had to sign release forms when he didn't know who the cosplayer was and what they were going to use it for.

@gaff: Good to finally see the resolution of the "Hawkcat" mystery mentioned on that podcast. They pretty much knew it was Colbert-related later, but Norm was pretty convinced that it wasn't Colbert himself in the costume. Considering how quickly Adam Savage gets found out when he does "Adam Incognito" this is kind of impressive.

@galacticpunt: I would argue Adam does it all the time so people expect to look for him and Colbert does not so no one expected it at first. You can tell by the video that at some point people figured it out.

When Adam first did it it was a little bit before people figured out he was even there.

Thought that would be the case.
