So I've had this pain for a couple of hours now, it feels like when you try to burp but it gets caught. It isn't that though, even though burps have soothed it for they occur. I just had dinner and each bite I could feel hit a point where the pain would come back and then go away again. Pain is deeper, around lungs rather than the heart.
Probably dying :D. Or at least faster than scheduled.
fyi I am 19 and slim.
edit: Getting a klondike bar :D
edit 2: Klondike helped a bit, awesome
Odd chest pain (anyone able to give their diagnosis?)
"Jazz, no not really.edit: Flawless you have to come up with a better swine flu joke."Are you a dead baby?
None of what I described started as a result of eating food, would be quite odd if it was acid reflux. It started randomly around quarter to 4.

"None of what I described started as a result of eating food, would be quite odd if it was acid reflux. It started randomly around quarter to 4."You don't need to eat to feel acid reflux pain. I don't have it often, but when it hits, it's a tremendous pain in my chest. It could also be a pulled muscle or nerve that's acting out. Keep an eye on it and if it continues... looks like ER for you.
Have you been doing any heavy lifting? Carrying a considerable load on your back (like lugging around a heavy backpack) can strain the nerves in your solar plexus, causing minor chest discomfort. Such has been the case with many college students.
...unless its esophogeal, which in this case, youre on your own. TUMS perhaps?
Where's House?
Hey guys, thanks for the suggestions. It definitely wasn't heartburn. I guess I should have took more time to find exactly where it was coming from. It was more deep down in the throat, which is why I mentioned the lungs. I haven't noticed anything for a while, it's very mild every once in a while now if I take the time to notice it.
edit: The reason I know it wasn't heartburn is that I had it well before dinner and I was taking my time eating because of how it intensified every time food went down.
As mentioned, you can get heartburn on an empty stomach if the conditions are right. I get heartburn a lot and it's not necessarily caused by eating.
Could be a mild ulcer. Heartburn caused by that can also cause a bit of difficulty swallowing or excess phlegm in your throat. You might also notice increased pain by eating certain foods and reduced pain by eating others - cold foods help, acidic foods most certainly do not.
Most likely you ate something earlier that irritated or scraped your esophagus and eating rubbed against the open lesion. If that's all it is, it'll go away on its own.

champy, a bit late.
