Yep, it's that time of year again. Your months of anguish are over. Football is back!
Please, keep only NFL talk in this discussion. I will start a college football thread next month when the season officially starts. I will also post a schedule at the bottom of this thread with dates, times, and outcomes of the games.
Official 2010 NFL Discussion Thread
" @CitizenKane: Must be a happy camper these days! I'm envious. I've never seen one of my teams win it all... Because none of my teams have ever won it all. World Series, Super Bowl, MLS Cup... "It has came only after my whole life of and franchise history of absolute ineptitude and embarrassment. It really is quite a feeling after going through so much in the franchise's history. Being in New Orleans for the Super Bowl is something I will never forget. You would have to be there to truly know how it was.
my team is the Philadelphia Eagles, after a decade of the Mcnabb era, we start anew this year with a team that has an average age of 25 years old lead by Kevin Kolb, Desean Jackson, Jeremy Maclin, Brent Celek, Trent Cole, Broderick Bunkley, Bandon Grahm, Sterat Bradley etc.. while us eagles fans will never forget McNabb, Westbrook, Dawkins, Trotter, Hugh Douglas, Ike Reese, and the rest of the players that gave us the winningest record in the NFC since 2000, it's time to move on to the next chapter with these young guys.
one final look back at the best day during the McNabb era, Go Birds.... E-A-G-L-E-S- EAGLES
" @AgentJ said:Knowing the 12th man, whenever that day finally comes would be really special. I mean sure, according to the ref it really happened 5 years ago, but when the league actually gives us that trophy, there won't be much like it. Take the loudest fans in the world and combine them with something to cheer about :P" @CitizenKane: Must be a happy camper these days! I'm envious. I've never seen one of my teams win it all... " @Gearhead: I'd rather have my team just make the wildcard and get into the Super Bowl over just winning the division. "Patriots will go beyond just the division. They have one of the best quaterbacks in the game, the best coach in the NFL, great options, and a revived defense.

I know it's overkill, but anything can happen once the playoffs start (yep, talking about the playoffs even before the regular season).

The Superbowl was a great one, with the Giants defense being great. Though the game was no blowout, only a fieldgoal of a difference, with some amazing/lucky catches from the Giants. At least one team though is still winning more than .500 of their games. ;)
" @Karmum said:Giants fan? I am, but those last few minutes were based on luck. They probably shouldn't have won that game. Nevertheless, I think we'll all still take the win. Wins in the regular season are great, but the wins in the Super Bowl are the ones that matter the most (which both the Giants and Patriots have done in the past few years)." @Gearhead said:Seeing that your a Giants fan, yeah. " @Buck_Sexington said:We have Kyle Orton, why would we need another QB?" Go Broncooooohwhybother "B-but you're not excited about Tim Tebow? /sarcasm //more like Te-blow "
And my statement about him was meant to be sarcastic
Now I've found ATDHE, I'm going to make a real effort to watch the season this year. Not sure who to support though, I haven't watched properly since the 49ers had the TO and Garcia tag team.
In other news: Mike Williams looks like he may have made it back into the NFL successfully, and if so, the Seahawks have their own Larry Fitzgerald. Well, not quite that, but a big, fast wide receiver, the likes of which the team hasn't had since the days of Largent (and even he wasn't 6-5 230)
I'm rooting for the Vikings and the Colts. Also have some love for the Patriots, as Tom Brady is from Michigan. Screw the cheatin' Saints.

Sadly bro we are gonna take a step back. 7-9 at best. And Asante Samuels has got to go. On the bright side I got a new Eagles cap today from training camp.

Indeed, although I have a terrible feeling that they will play about the same as last year.
" @JacDG said:It's a rebuilding periode, we traded Josh Wilson, and a lot of other guys are gone, we are shopping Housh, so I don't think we'll win more than 7 games. That said, there's a lot of young talent, and I can't wait to see if Mike Williams will be his college self." @PeasantAbuse said:Indeed, although I have a terrible feeling that they will play about the same as last year.
